AEG MIPe NewGen Switch-Mode Rectifier Module

Description

A hot-swappable rectifier module for Protect RCS MIPe systems

The AEG MIPe NewGen is a switch-mode rectifier module for industrial applications. It is fitted inside Protect RCS MIPe systems or racks and brings compact, hot-swappable power with digital control over CAN bus. AEG Power Solutions lists efficiency of 93 to 95 % typical over a large load range, low input current harmonics, a power factor of 0.99 and low standby power consumption.

Because modules are paralleled in the system, a rack can be sized for N+1 redundancy and extended on site. The datasheet lists applications in power generation, T and D, oil and gas, petrochemical, heavy industry, mining and transportation signalling.

Protection, control and indication

Control and alarms run through the CAN bus to the system controller, and a front panel LED shows green for normal operation, yellow for minor alarms and red for major alarms. Protection covers HRC fuses in the line and neutral conductors, a DC output fuse on positive polarity, output current and power limitation, soft start and automatic power derating with shutdown on excess temperature.

Default over-voltage protection is 35 VDC for the 24 V module, 70 VDC for 48 V, 170 VDC for 110/120 V and 315 VDC for 220 V. Quiescent consumption is 3 W with output off and 10 W with output on.

Selection and what to confirm before ordering

Choose the module type from the system battery voltage: PM 24-50, PM 48-40, PM 110-16 or PM 220-8. Modules are specified for use inside Protect RCS MIPe systems and racks, so confirm compatibility with the installed or planned subrack and controller before ordering spares or expansion modules.

The module datasheet does not give a single orderable part number per type, so give the module type, the host system and the quantity when requesting a quotation.
