Overview

The ABB TB264 is an in-line, two-electrode contacting conductivity sensor engineered for continuous conductivity and concentration monitoring in industrial process piping. It uses a compact 25mm process connection body that threads directly into a pipeline tee or saddle fitting, making it a natural fit for retrofit installations where space around the pipe run is limited.

Operating Principle

The TB264 applies an AC voltage across its two stainless steel electrodes and measures the resulting current flow through the process liquid. Because conductivity rises with dissolved ion concentration, this current is directly proportional to the solution’s conductivity. The sensor’s specific cell constant is factory-calibrated to match the electrode geometry, allowing the paired transmitter to convert the raw signal into accurate conductivity or total dissolved solids readings across a wide measurement span.

The TB264’s in-line 25mm process connection integrates the electrode pair into a compact body designed for direct pipeline mounting, eliminating the need for a separate flow chamber or bypass loop.
