Bently Nevada 125760-01 Data Manager I/O Module
Description
Bently Nevada 125760-01 Data Manager I/O module for the 3500/20 RIM
The Bently Nevada 125760-01 is listed in the 3500/20 Rack Interface Module datasheet as the Data Manager I/O Module. It plugs into the rear of a 3500 rack that uses the 3500/20 RIM and gives the rack two sets of proprietary communication ports for connecting Bently Nevada communication processors. Some catalogues label it with the newer 3500/22M name; the manufacturer datasheet places it with the 3500/20, and that is how this page treats it.
This is a legacy interface part. Seven Star LLC supplies it as a spare for operators who still run 3500/20 racks with external data collection hardware in Oman and the GCC.

Role in a 3500/20 rack
The 3500/20 RIM is the interface between the rack and outside equipment and sits in Slot 1. Its rear I/O module decides what can be attached: a built-in modem, an RS232/RS422 interface, or the Data Manager I/O. With the Data Manager I/O, two Bently Nevada communication processors can be connected to the same rack, which is useful when both a static and a dynamic data collector are needed. The RIM supports processors such as TDXnet, TDIX and DDIX, and the datasheet lists matching static and dynamic data cables.
Compatible and related part numbers
Related RIM items from the same datasheet are 125744-02 (standard RIM main module), 125744-01 (TMR RIM), 135031-01 (RIM I/O with modem) and 125768-01 (RIM I/O with RS232/RS422). The cables 129386-01 (TDIX static data) and 129387-01 (DDIX static data), and 02290160 (DDIX/TDIX dynamic data), are the typical leads used with the data manager ports. The 3500/22M TDI is the later replacement for this generation of rack interface, and its I/O modules are different parts.
Selection checklist for 125760-01
- Verify that the rack really has a 3500/20 RIM and not a 3500/22M TDI.
- Identify the communication processors to be connected and their cable numbers.
- Check the RIM I/O currently installed, because only one I/O module sits in the matching rear slot.
- State condition required: new, surplus or tested spare.
- Plan the long-term path: many sites replace the RIM with a TDI during upgrades.
Installation and spares practice
Fit anti-static precautions, record the rack address and cable positions, then change the I/O module with the RIM seated as instructed in the RIM manual. After the change power-cycle or reset communications from the host software and check that the communication processor reports the rack. Because the board is obsolete in design, keep one tested spare per site and store it in sealed anti-static packaging.
Use in Oman and the GCC
Older oil, gas and power plants across the region still run 3500/20 racks with serial data collectors. For these, the data manager I/O is a small but critical part: without it the diagnostic computer loses the rack. Hot control rooms and long service lives make a quoted spare easier to manage than an emergency order.
Practical notes on supporting a legacy 125760-01 installation
A 3500/20 rack with data manager I/O is typically an older installation, so first confirm what is connected to the two port sets: a TDXnet, TDIX or DDIX communication processor, and the cable numbers listed for static and dynamic data. Photograph the rear wiring before removing the 125760-01, note the DIP or address settings of connected devices, and keep the removed module for comparison if the replacement does not communicate.
Because the module uses a fixed 9600 baud proprietary protocol, no baud-rate setting needs to be changed on the module; communication problems are almost always cabling, processor configuration or a RIM firmware matter. If the plant is planning a rack-interface upgrade, ask us about the 3500/22M TDI route at the same time so the spares plan covers both generations. The datasheet gives no electrical detail beyond that shown here, so this page is deliberately short.
Information to send with your RFQ

Checks before swapping a 125760-01 in a running rack
Before ordering, confirm that the rack really uses a 3500/20 RIM in Slot 1 and not a 3500/22M transient data interface, because the two RIMs use different rear I/O modules and the boards are not interchangeable. Read the full part number from the label on the installed board rather than from old drawings, since racks are often modified over the years.
On site, label both communication cables before removal and note which communication processor is connected to which port. Follow the 3500 rack manual and the site permit-to-work for removing and inserting I/O modules. After the swap, check in the 3500 Rack Configuration Software and in the connected data collector that both static and dynamic data are arriving again, and record the change in the machine history file.

A proximity probe measures the gap to the shaft, so it sees shaft movement inside a fluid-film bearing directly. A velocity or acceleration sensor sits on the casing and suits rolling-element bearing machines. Critical turbomachinery usually carries two X-Y probes per bearing, two axial probes for thrust position and a Keyphasor probe for speed and phase.
Where Bently Nevada systems are used
In Oman and the GCC, Bently Nevada racks and probes protect gas turbines, compressors and steam turbines in gas processing, LNG, refining, petrochemical, power and desalination plants. Many installations are 3500 racks that have run for years, so most requests are for like-for-like module, probe, extension cable and proximitor replacements, plus upgrades to newer monitors.
Ordering and replacement: what we need
For probes and proximitors, send the full part number with all option digits (for example 330101-00-27-10-02-05). The digits set the probe length, cable length, connector and approvals, and the probe, cable and proximitor must match in total system length. For 3500 modules, send the module and I/O part numbers from the rack and say whether the I/O is internal or external termination, or barrier type. If a module is obsolete, we quote the replacement that Bently Nevada names and point out any configuration or firmware change.
