An IAQ logger that changes sensors by changing the probe

The TSI Q-Trak 7575 is an indoor air quality monitor built on a probe-swapping design. The meter body holds the electronics, logger, barometric sensor and two thermocouple inputs, and TSI plug-in probes supply the measuring element: CO2 with temperature and humidity (980), the same plus carbon monoxide (982), VOC probes (984 to 987) or velocity probes.

The 56,035-point memory means it can sit in a plant room or office for several weeks of trend logging. The manual supports two variants, 7575-X with Bluetooth and 7575-X-NB without. See the wider Portable Test & Measurement group for companion tools.

Probe choice for the 7575

Probes are ordered separately. For ventilation checks pick CO2, temperature and humidity (980) or add CO (982); for solvent and off-gassing surveys pick a VOC probe: 984 low (ppb) or 985 high (ppm) concentration, and 986 or 987 which add CO2, temperature and humidity. Thermoanemometer probes (960, 962, 964, 966), the 995 rotating vane and thermocouple probes 792 and 794 are also listed. Specifications for each probe sit in its own manual, which is not included in this document.

Operating notes

Align the D-shaped overmolding with the connector, then power up; if a probe is plugged in after power-on the manual says to restart the monitor. Warm up for five minutes before Zero CO, and run it where there is no combustion that could affect zeroing.

Keypad lock protects settings during unattended logging. Set DIP switch 1 for NiMH before charging; do not charge alkaline cells. Program 1 and 2 logging schedules are set through TrakPro, and the 7575-X pairs with the Model 8934 printer only when the PIN code is 0000.

IAQ surveys in Gulf buildings

CO2 trend logs over a working day show whether outside-air dampers are delivering design ventilation in offices and schools, while a CO probe helps screen car parks, kitchens and plant rooms. The electronics are rated 5 to 45 C, so leave the monitor in conditioned space for long logging sessions rather than on an exposed rooftop.

Printer, software and probes

The manual names the Model 8934 wireless printer, TrakPro data analysis software, the AC adapter p/n 801761, and application notes TSI-124, TSI-138, TSI-141, TSI-142, TSI-146 and TSI-150. All plug-in probes in Appendix B must be ordered with the monitor.

Selection and installation notes

Handheld air and environment meters are selected from the quantity measured, the range and the accuracy needed. Let the probe settle in the air stream, take readings at the points and the number the test method requires, keep the sensors clean, check the battery before a survey and keep the calibration current according to your quality system. Note the conditions and the probe position with every reading so the survey can be repeated.

Frequently asked questions

Which probe gives CO as well as CO2? The 982 IAQ probe, which also measures temperature and humidity; CO range is 0 to 500 ppm.

How long can it log? The manual gives 56,035 data points with four parameters enabled, or 38.9 days at 1-minute intervals.

What is the difference between 7575-X and 7575-X-NB? The -X has Bluetooth for the optional printer; the -X-NB does not.

Does it measure differential pressure? No. Both listed variants have no differential pressure sensor.
