Lovato LVMP30A240 LVMP30 Pump Start-Up Priority Change Relay

Description

Alternating pump duty so run hours stay balanced

The LVMP30A240 is a start-up priority change relay from Lovato Electric for priority change for 3-4 motors systems. Each time the demand signal drops and returns, the relay rotates which motor is called first, so run hours and wear are shared across the pumps. A display shows motor status, the number of starts and the working hours.

It has 4 NO outputs on a multi-voltage supply of 85-265 VAC (multi-voltage), and each output closes a contactor for one motor.

Selecting the relay

Choose by the number of motors: this code is the 3 to 4 motor version. A 2-output version (LVMP10, LVMP05) exists for duplex stations. Confirm the supply (AC multi-voltage here) matches the control panel.

The level relay or float switch chooses when pumps are needed; the priority-change relay decides which pump answers.

Applications and wiring

Typical use is sewage and drainage lift stations, booster sets and cooling circuits. The relay mounts on DIN rail in the panel and is wired between the level controller and the motor contactors.

For panel design and commissioning, the practical figures to keep at hand are: dimensions (W x H x D) 72 x 106 x 59.6 mm; weight 242 g; mounting 35mm DIN rail (IEC/EN 60715) or by screws using extractable clips; operating temperature (min) -20 °C; operating temperature (max) +55 °C; storage temperature (min) -40 °C; storage temperature (max) +70 °C; relative humidity 20-90 %; execution Modular DIN rail mounting; N° of modules 4; material Polyamide; IEC degree of protection IP20. These come straight from the datasheet and are repeated here so that the key installation limits are visible without opening the PDF.

About brand

Lovato Electric is the Italian manufacturer of low-voltage electrical components for industrial automation and power distribution: contactors, motor protection circuit breakers, soft starters, variable speed drives, power factor controllers, transfer switch and generator controllers, and energy meters. It was founded in Bergamo in 1922 and has been run by the same family for four generations. Its headquarters is in Gorle, near Bergamo, and it celebrated its centenary in 2022.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Lovato motor control, drives and power management products, and supply them to panel builders, contractors and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC by order code.

Lovato order codes describe the product. On a contactor such as BF0910A230, "BF09" is the frame and rated current (9 A in AC-3), "10" is the built-in auxiliary contact (one normally open), "A" means an AC coil and "230" is the coil voltage. The coil voltage must match the control circuit exactly, so it is the most common detail to check when replacing one. For motors, a soft starter limits the inrush current at start and stop, while a variable speed drive controls the speed continuously and saves energy on pumps and fans that do not need full flow all the time.

Where Lovato products are used

In Oman and the GCC, Lovato components are built into motor control centres, pump and HVAC panels, capacitor banks for power factor correction, generator and ATS panels, and machine control panels for industry, water and buildings.
