Pfannenberg PWS 7062 Air/Water Heat Exchanger, 600 W

Description

Slim air/water heat exchangers for plants with chilled water

The Pfannenberg PWS 7062 is a slim air/water heat exchanger with 600 W cooling capacity, and the PWS 7102 delivers 950 W at the same test condition. Where a plant already has a chilled or cooling water circuit, an air/water heat exchanger removes cabinet heat into the water without a compressor, which makes it simple, quiet and efficient. The device is maintenance-free, can be installed completely inside, outside or partly through the wall, and has a mounting-friendly seal that avoids elaborate rework of the cut-out.

An integrated thermostat and solenoid valve control the water flow, and integrated temperature monitoring with an alarm contact reports a fault. Because the cooling medium is water at +1 to +35 °C, the cabinet can be held below the ambient temperature as long as the water is cooler than the required inside temperature.

Water-side design notes

The listed performance is at 10 °C water and 35 °C ambient with a flow of 200 l/h; changing the water temperature or flow changes the capacity, and the sheet gives the curve against water flow. The manufacturer lists a 10 bar maximum, a +1 to +35 °C inlet range and copper pipe with aluminium fins, so water quality and corrosion inhibitors should be agreed for the circuit, and stainless piping is available on request. Condensate forms when the water is colder than the dew point of the cabinet air, so the unit has a condensate drain; an external condensate evaporation system (18314000001) and a condensate bottle (18314000100) are listed as accessories.

Selection and what to confirm before ordering

Compare the heat load of the cabinet with 600 W for the PWS 7062 or 950 W for the PWS 7102 at the planned water temperature and flow, and check the water supply is available at the cabinet location. Confirm voltage, hose or other water connection, the IP class and the finish. For sites without a water circuit use a refrigerant-based unit such as the DTT 6301 or the Rittal Blue e+ wall-mounted cooling units; see the Cooling category.

Documents and quotation

The Pfannenberg PWS 7102/7062 product sheet is attached to this page and is the manufacturer’s own document, not a Seven Star summary. It includes the water-flow performance curve and outline.

State the water temperature, flow, voltage and finish. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, quotes the PWS 7062 and PWS 7102 against your application data; send the enclosure size, ambient temperature, supply voltage and quantity so the correct variant and article number can be confirmed before an offer is issued.

About brand

Pfannenberg is the German maker of thermal management and signalling products for electrical enclosures and industry: filter fans, cooling units, air-to-water heat exchangers, chillers, heaters, sirens and beacons. Otto Pfannenberg, an electrical engineer, founded the company in Hamburg in 1954, and in 1958 he invented the filter fan to stop components in control cabinets from overheating. Pfannenberg is still family-owned and headquartered in Hamburg.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Pfannenberg signalling devices and enclosure climate products for panel builders and plant engineers in Oman and the GCC.

Milestones

  • 1954: Otto Pfannenberg founds the company in Hamburg.
  • 1958: Pfannenberg invents the filter fan for control cabinets.
  • 1962: The company introduces an industrial flashing light that does not need a bulb change after activation.

Pfannenberg product series

Signalling devices include the PATROL PA X combined flashing sounders from 105 to 122 dB(A), the PYRA flashing light sounder, the PRO 10-Ex sounder for zone 2 and zone 22, and the INTENSE BR 50 modular LED signal tower.

Thermal management covers FLZ enclosure thermostats, twin thermostats, hygrostats and Peltier thermostats, FLH radiant heaters and PFH and FLH-T fan heaters, PF filter fans in several installation sizes up to 785 m3/h and the PTF roof-mounted filter fan, and DTS and DTI cooling units, including the DTI outdoor version.

Where Pfannenberg products are used

Control and drive cabinets on machines and in plant rooms, outdoor enclosures in hot and humid climates, and alarm and evacuation signalling in industrial buildings and process areas. In the Gulf, cabinet cooling and condensation control are the main reasons for specifying Pfannenberg thermal products.
