Miller Bobcat 265 Gas or LP Engine-Driven Welder
Description
An engine-driven welder and generator for field maintenance
The Miller Bobcat 265 is a gas or LP engine-driven welder and generator for maintenance, repair, construction, farm and work-truck use. It delivers 265 A at 27 V at 100 % duty cycle for stick and DC TIG, and constant-voltage output of 14 to 30 V for MIG and flux-cored welding with a wire feeder. Air carbon arc gouging with 3/16 in carbons is listed, and air plasma cutting is possible with optional Spectrum plasma cutters powered from the machine.
The same machine supplies 11,000 W of peak and 9,500 W of continuous auxiliary power, with weld and auxiliary power independent, so tools can run while welding. Miller describes it as over 100 lb lighter and 13 percent smaller than the previous model. An LCD interface offers Auto-Set predefined weld settings, predictive maintenance information and productivity screens, and a 10-pin connection supports Spoolmate and Spoolmatic spool guns without an adapter.

Which Bobcat 265 package to choose
| Stock number | Configuration |
|---|---|
| 907826 | Rehlko gas engine with GFCI receptacles and remote start/stop |
| 907826001 | As above with ArcReach |
| 907826002 | As above with battery charge/crank assist |
| 907826003 | Rehlko gas engine with electric fuel pump and remote start/stop |
| 907848 | Vanguard gas engine with GFCI receptacles |
| 907827 | Bobcat 265 LP, Rehlko engine with GFCI receptacles |
The spec sheet notes that ArcReach is not available on the battery charge/crank assist model, that LP output is derated by up to five percent, and that remote start/stop applies to the Rehlko gas model. The Bobcat 230 is the smaller option in the same family, rated 20 to 230 A, if stick and flux-cored work is all that is needed.
What to confirm before ordering
Decide the fuel (gasoline or LP) and the engine brand, then the options: ArcReach remote control, battery charge/crank assist, electric fuel pump for work above 5,000 ft, and running gear or a protective cage for site moves. State the processes, electrode or wire type and the auxiliary loads so the 9,500 W continuous rating can be checked. The spec sheet lists dimensions and a mounting pattern for truck installation.
How the Miller Bobcat 265 works
The Bobcat 265 has a gas or LP engine that turns a generator. The generator makes the welding current, and a separate winding supplies single-phase auxiliary power at 120 and 240 V. The welding output is direct current of 20 to 265 A for stick and TIG, or constant voltage of 14 to 30 V for MIG and flux-cored work with a wire feeder. Weld power and auxiliary power are independent, so a tool can run while the operator welds.
Where the Bobcat 265 is used
- Maintenance and repair in the field
- Construction and pipe work away from the grid
- Farm and work-truck welding
- Fabrication that needs a back-up generator
- Air carbon arc gouging and plasma cutting with optional cutters

Installation, commissioning and maintenance notes
Run the welder outdoors or where the exhaust leaves the area, and keep it level. Check the oil and fuel before each shift and use the fuel the engine needs. Connect the work and electrode leads, set the process on the LCD and use the Auto-Set function for a first setting. Service the engine as its maker requires and keep the air filter clean.

About brand
Blue welding machines from Appleton, USA, where Miller has built arc welding equipment since 1929, are a common sight in pipe shops and on construction sites. Seven Star LLC sources and supplies Miller welding power sources, engine-driven welders, induction heating systems, MIG guns and auto-darkening helmets for fabricators and contractors in Oman, and checks each model and its input power configuration against the manufacturer's documentation before quoting.
Miller product families listed here
Miller welding machines on this page cover most processes used in plant construction and maintenance:
- TIG and stick: Dynasty 400 AC/DC and Maxstar 210 STR
- Multiprocess: XMT 400 ArcReach, XMT 650 and the PipeWorx 400 pipe welding system
- Engine-driven welders: Trailblazer 330 and Big Blue 800 Duo Pro
- Induction heating: ProHeat 35
- Guns and helmets: XR-Aluma-Pro push-pull gun; T94, Classic, Digital Performance, Digital Elite and Digital Infinity helmets
Where Miller equipment is used
An XMT or PipeWorx set suits pipe spools and structural work where one power source must run stick, TIG, MIG and flux-cored procedures. Dynasty machines handle aluminum and stainless TIG. Trailblazer and Big Blue engine drives go where no mains supply exists, such as pipelines, tank erection and remote maintenance in the GCC. The ProHeat 35 is used for preheat and post-weld heat treatment of pipe joints.
Ordering Miller machines and parts: what we need
State the model and the Miller part number of the exact package, because the same machine is sold in several configurations. Give the supply at your site (voltage, phase and 50 Hz), the process and maximum current, and the accessories needed: wire feeder, remote control, cable length, torch or gun, cooler, running gear. For spare parts, the serial number from the rating label is essential, since Miller parts lists are issued by serial number range. For helmets, name the series and lens type.
