Brand:

TP-Link SG3210XHP-M2 Omada 2.5G PoE+ Switch

Description

A compact 2.5G PoE+ switch for Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 access points

The SG3210XHP-M2 is an Omada Access Pro switch with eight 2.5 Gbps PoE+ RJ45 ports and two 10 Gbps SFP+ slots. The datasheet gives 80 Gbps switching capacity, 59.52 Mpps forwarding and a 240 W PoE budget with up to 30 W per port.

The 2.5G ports remove the gigabit bottleneck for access points whose radios exceed 1 Gbps, while the SFP+ slots provide 10G uplinks. The case is only 440 x 180 x 44 mm deep, rack mountable and quiet: with a PoE load under 210 W at 25 degrees C the switch is fanless.

Reading the numbers: eight 2.5G ports plus two 10G SFP+ ports equal 40 Gbps per direction, or 80 Gbps counted both ways (derived), which matches the stated capacity. The 240 W PoE budget across eight ports gives 30 W per port, the 802.3at maximum, so every port can supply a high-power device at once. Total consumption at full load is 276.9 to 284.3 W, and with only 20 W on standby the switch is efficient when lightly loaded. Cabling must support 2.5GBASE-T to use the port speed.

2.5G ports, 10G uplinks and management features

  • 8 x 2.5G PoE+ ports (802.3af/at, up to 30 W each) with perpetual PoE, fast PoE and PoE extend mode.
  • 2 x 10G SFP+ slots; one 10G RJ45 module (SM5310-T) at a time may be fitted.
  • ERPS ring protection, OAM and DDM; static routing with 48 routes and 32 IP interfaces.
  • Standalone management by web, CLI, SNMP and RMON, or Omada controller and cloud management.
  • 512 ARP entries, 16K MAC table, 12 Mbit buffer, dual image and dual configuration.

Ordering notes and transceiver options

The code is SG3210XHP-M2 (hardware 3.20, UN). Included: switch, power cord, console cable, rackmount kit, rubber feet and installation guide. For the uplinks the datasheet names 10G modules SM5110-LR (10 km single-mode), SM5110-SR (300 m multi-mode) and SM5110LSA-10 (10 km bi-directional), as well as the gigabit SFP types. A 2.5G link typically needs Cat5e or better cabling; check the access point model before ordering.

Cooling, noise and power details

Because the 240 W budget is shared, count the 2.5G access points at their real PoE class. The quiet profile (13.7 dBA typical at 192 W PoE load) suits rooms where people work, while the operating limit is 50 degrees C, so avoid enclosed cabinets. Note the SFP+ restriction on the 10G RJ45 module and use controller mode if you intend to push configuration to many switches at once.

Where multigig PoE helps

Use it where Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 access points, such as the EAP670 or EAP773 on this site, need multigigabit PoE, and in small server rooms with a 10G uplink. This is derived from the port speeds rather than a datasheet recommendation.

Information to send with an RFQ for the TP-Link SG3210XHP-M2 Omada 2.5G PoE+ Switch

Switch selection depends on how many devices connect, how they are powered and how the switch links back to the core. For the TP-Link SG3210XHP-M2 Omada 2.5G PoE+ Switch, list the number of copper and fibre ports you need, the PoE devices it will feed (cameras, access points, phones) and their individual power class, so the total PoE budget can be checked against the switch’s limit.

  • Uplink speed and media: 1G, 2.5G or 10G, copper or SFP/SFP+, and the optic modules required.
  • Management needs: VLANs, link aggregation, IGMP snooping, or central management from a controller.
  • Rack space, airflow direction and power redundancy in the cabinet.
  • Ambient temperature in the room or field cabinet, which matters in GCC summers.

A simple port map of the site is enough for the configuration to be checked before the order is confirmed.
