STEGO ETR 011 Electronic Thermostat -20 to 60 C 01131.0-00

Description

01131.0-00 is the STEGO ETR 011 electronic thermostat with an NTC sensor, a -20 to 60 C setting range, an LED indicator and a changeover relay rated 8(1.6) A. It runs on 230 V at 1 W and measures 64.5 x 42 x 38 mm.

An electronic thermostat that can switch a heater or a fan

The ETR 011 senses temperature with an NTC element and switches a changeover relay, so one device can control either a heater or a fan or filter fan. An LED shows the switching state. Compared with a bimetal thermostat the electronic type reacts quicker and holds a narrower differential.

STEGO lists a differential of 4 K with a tolerance of 1 K and a reaction time of 5 s. The relay is specified for more than 50,000 cycles, and the unit works from -40 to +85 C ambient.

Selection and ordering guide

STEGO describes the ETR 011 as an electronic thermostat for controlling heating, cooling devices, filter fans or signal transmitters. It detects ambient temperature and switches through output relays with a changeover contact, and the integrated LED lights when, for example, a heating system is running. Key features are the large setting range, small hysteresis for precise control and clip mounting.

Choose the ETR 011 over a bimetal thermostat when the changeover contact is needed, for example heater on one terminal and fan on the other, or when a faster reaction is wanted. Its 8 A rating covers most small heaters and filter fans.

The 230 V article is 01131.0-00; the 120 V article is 01131.9-00 and uses a Fahrenheit scale. Check the supply before you order.

Installation and operation notes

Wire as shown in the STEGO diagram: terminal 1 takes the line, terminal 2 goes to the heater, terminal 3 to the cooling or fan, and terminals 4 and 5 are the supply. Use conductors up to 2.5 mm2 in the clamp.

Place the sensor where it measures representative enclosure air and keep it away from direct heater airflow. Confirm the values on the current datasheet.

Applications in Oman and the GCC

Combined heating and ventilation control in outdoor enclosures, telecom cabinets and control panels with a wide yearly temperature swing.

In hot-climate cabinets it can run a filter fan above the upper setpoint, and a heater below the lower one, from a single device.

The casing is plastic to UL94 V-0 in light grey with IP20 protection and clips onto a 35 mm DIN rail, so it is installed inside the enclosure next to the equipment it protects. Operating humidity is stated up to 90 % RH, and the 16 A inrush rating helps when the relay switches a heater or a fan with a start-up current peak.

Selection and maintenance notes

Because the changeover relay can be wired as a normally open or normally closed contact, one ETR 011 can switch a heater, a fan or a filter fan, which simplifies spare parts. In the region, filter fans and cooling equipment are needed to remove heat in summer, while heaters are used against condensation in humid coastal areas, so a clear setting plan for each enclosure helps avoid heating and cooling at the same time.

Mount the thermostat in the upper part of the enclosure, away from heat sources and from the direct air stream of fans or heaters. Check the switched load against the relay rating, and use a contactor for larger loads. Check the setting and operation during routine maintenance.

Where several enclosures share one design, the same thermostat can be used throughout, which keeps spare parts simple for maintenance teams.
