Sauter EGQ222F032 CO2 and Temperature Room Transducer 0-10 V

Description

The EGQ222F032 is a surface-mounted room transducer from Sauter that measures CO2 concentration and room temperature and delivers each as a 0 to 10 V signal. It uses dual-beam NDIR technology and is meant for demand-controlled ventilation in meeting rooms, offices, classrooms and conference spaces, where fresh air is boosted only when occupancy drives CO2 up.

CO2 and temperature on two analogue channels

The EGQ222 is the dual-output version of the family: channel one carries CO2 over 0 to 2000 ppm, channel two carries room temperature, both as active 0 to 10 V signals with a load of 10 kilohm or more. The single-output EGQ220F032 carries CO2 only. A building controller can then ramp supply fans or open dampers on CO2 while using the same device for the room temperature loop, which saves one device per room.

Key features from the datasheet

  • NDIR dual-beam measurement: a second channel measures a reference so ageing and contamination are compensated in real time
  • Self-calibration, so continuous operation needs no manual calibration
  • Very fast response; ready for operation in under 2 minutes, 15 minutes to full response
  • Developed to the guidance of EN 13779, EN 15251, VDI 6038 and VDI 6040
  • Configurable from a mobile app through an optional USB Bluetooth dongle
  • Housing in white polycarbonate; fits a 60 mm flush box or directly on the wall

Below a CO2 level of 400 ppm the output drops to 0 V, which the datasheet notes explicitly.

Selection and ordering guide

Two types exist in this family. Choose the EGQ222F032 when the controller needs both CO2 and temperature from one wall position.

Order code Description Output
EGQ220F032 Room transducer, CO2 Active, 1 × 0-10 V
EGQ222F032 Room transducer, CO2 and temperature Active, 2 × 0-10 V

The accessory 0300230010 is a USB Bluetooth dongle used for configuration; it is not part of the delivery.

Commissioning and fitting notes

  • Allow several minutes after switching on before the signal reaches full accuracy; readings may fluctuate while the sensor warms up.
  • Fit at 140 to 150 cm height, away from heat sources, direct sunlight, draughts, corners, curtains and shelving.
  • Do not cover the air vents; empty installation tubes behind the device should be sealed to stop air flow causing errors.
  • Run the ground wire carefully and use shielded cable; a 2 AT fuse is advisable as none is built in.
  • Factory settings assume a 24 VDC supply; at other voltages the temperature offset changes with electronic power loss.
  • Configure ranges, offsets and the live-zero signal with the Room Sensor Connect app; it is free in the app stores.

Room air-quality targets and Gulf use

The datasheet quotes the IDA categories: IDA 1 is under 400 ppm above outside air (high quality, standard 350 ppm), IDA 2 is 400 to 600 ppm, IDA 3 is 600 to 1000 ppm and IDA 4 above 1000 ppm. In Oman and the GCC, buildings run closed and air-conditioned for most of the year, so meeting rooms and classrooms can reach low-quality air quickly; demand-controlled fresh air saves cooling energy. Indoor use only: the device is not intended for dusty areas, outdoors or condensing conditions.

Selection and installation notes

A building automation device is selected from the signal type, the supply voltage, the mounting position and the system it connects to. Check the wiring diagram and the cable type, keep sensor cables away from power wiring, confirm the addressing or scaling in the controller, test each point at commissioning and record the final settings. Use the mounting accessories and the installation position given in the data sheet.

Mount a CO2 sensor at breathing height away from doors, windows, supply air and direct sunlight, and allow time for the reading to stabilise after power-up.

Information needed for a quotation

Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.

Documents and supply information

The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
