Applied Analytics

Applied Analytics, founded in 1994 and based in Massachusetts, USA, builds online process analyzers around one core instrument, the OMA, which reads a full absorbance spectrum of the sample instead of a single wavelength. Seven Star LLC lists Applied Analytics OMA analyzers for H2S, chlorine, BTX, odorant and multi-stream duty, and supplies them to gas plants, refineries and chemical sites in Oman as an independent supplier.

Applied Analytics OMA analyzers on this page

The manufacturer offers the OMA in three form factors: the wall-mounted OMA-300, the portable OMA-206P and the rackmount OMA-406R. All three are listed here, with application-specific builds of the same platform:

  • OMA-300 H2S Analyzer and OMA-300 Multi-Stream Process Analyzer
  • OMA Chlorine, BTX and Odorant analyzers
  • OMA-300-InGaAs for near-infrared measurements

The company also makes the TLG-837 tail gas analyzer, a sulfur pit gas version of it, and sample conditioning systems designed for each project.

Where Applied Analytics analyzers are used

Typical duties are H2S in sour gas, acid gas and amine treating, sulfur recovery control, chlorine in chlor-alkali and water treatment, aromatics in hydrocarbon and wastewater streams, and mercaptan odorant in distribution gas. These are everyday measurements in GCC gas processing and refining.

Ordering an OMA analyzer: what we need

An OMA is configured for one stream, so the manufacturer needs process data before it can confirm a model. Send the stream composition with all components and their ranges, the analytes and measuring ranges, phase, pressure and temperature at the sample point, area classification, available utilities, required outputs and whether a sample conditioning system or shelter is part of the scope. For spares, send the analyzer serial number and the part description.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Applied Analytics ask for the full stream composition?
The OMA measures absorbance across a spectrum and calculates each analyte from it. Other components that absorb in the same region must be known so the method can account for them, and the path length of the flow cell is chosen from the expected concentration. An incomplete composition can lead to a wrong cell or range, so list every component, including trace ones.
What is the difference between the OMA-300 and the OMA-206P?
They share the same measurement principle. The OMA-300 is the wall-mounted version for continuous online analysis and connection to the plant control system. The OMA-206P is a portable version for moving between sample points, surveys or temporary measurements. Tell us if the duty is continuous or occasional, and the area classification at each point.
Can one OMA-300 measure several streams or several components?
The manufacturer offers a multi-stream configuration in which one analyzer is switched between sample streams. The practical limit depends on the chemistry, the ranges and the response time you can accept for each stream. Send the data for every stream and we will forward it for evaluation.
Which hazardous-area versions are available for OMA analyzers?
Applied Analytics builds its analyzers in general-purpose and hazardous-area executions, and the certification is part of the configuration agreed with the manufacturer. State the zone or division, gas group and temperature class in your inquiry. The manufacturer's certificates and datasheet for the configured unit are provided with the order, on request.
Is Seven Star LLC a distributor of Applied Analytics?
No. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier, not an authorized distributor or agent of Applied Analytics. We source OMA analyzers and spare parts through commercial channels, pass your process data to be checked against the manufacturer's documentation, and provide the manufacturer's datasheet and the certificates the manufacturer issues with the order, on request.
