Lovato 11RF910 6-10 A Thermal Overload Relay
Description
An 11RF9-family overload relay set between 6 and 10 A
A motor needing overload protection in the 6-10 A band can use the 11RF910, a thermal relay of the Lovato Electric 11RF9 family with phase-failure detection and a trip indicator.
Tripping class is 10A, the reset mode is manual, and the auxiliary contact block provides 1 NO and 1 NC for the control circuit. Insulation voltage is 690 V.

Matching the relay to the motor
With an adjustment range of 6-10 A, this relay suits a motor whose full-load current falls inside it. Heavy-start loads such as large fans may need a different trip class than a standard relay provides.
Short-circuit protection is separate: the datasheet quotes 32 A gG and 10 A aM as maximum fuse sizes for this relay.
Application and wiring
Fit the relay under the contactor, set the dial, and connect the 95-96 and 97-98 contacts to the control circuit as shown on the front label and in the datasheet.
The power terminals are of screw and washer type; the datasheet table lists the temperature range and the auxiliary contact ratings.
For panel design and commissioning, the practical figures to keep at hand are: terminals type screw and washer; terminals screw M4; terminals width 9.8 mm; terminals tool Phillips 2; auxiliary circuit type screw and washer; auxiliary circuit screw M3,5; auxiliary circuit width 8 mm; auxiliary circuit tool Phillips 1; operating temperature (min) -20 °C; operating temperature (max) 55 °C; storage temperature (min) -55 °C; storage temperature (max) 70 °C; max altitude 3000 m; operating position, normal Vertical plan. These come straight from the datasheet and are repeated here so that the key installation limits are visible without opening the PDF.
Documents and quotation
All data on this page for 11RF910 is taken from the Lovato Electric catalogue datasheet (English), which you can download from the attachment list. Check the motor full-load current, the matching contactor and whether a manual or automatic reset is wanted against your own drawings first; the manufacturer may update datasheet figures without notice. About brand
Lovato Electric is the Italian manufacturer of low-voltage electrical components for industrial automation and power distribution: contactors, motor protection circuit breakers, soft starters, variable speed drives, power factor controllers, transfer switch and generator controllers, and energy meters. It was founded in Bergamo in 1922 and has been run by the same family for four generations. Its headquarters is in Gorle, near Bergamo, and it celebrated its centenary in 2022.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Lovato motor control, drives and power management products, and supply them to panel builders, contractors and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC by order code.

Lovato order codes describe the product. On a contactor such as BF0910A230, "BF09" is the frame and rated current (9 A in AC-3), "10" is the built-in auxiliary contact (one normally open), "A" means an AC coil and "230" is the coil voltage. The coil voltage must match the control circuit exactly, so it is the most common detail to check when replacing one. For motors, a soft starter limits the inrush current at start and stop, while a variable speed drive controls the speed continuously and saves energy on pumps and fans that do not need full flow all the time.
Where Lovato products are used
In Oman and the GCC, Lovato components are built into motor control centres, pump and HVAC panels, capacitor banks for power factor correction, generator and ATS panels, and machine control panels for industry, water and buildings.
