Kübler Sendix M3661 Analog Multiturn Encoder 4-20 mA 0-10 V
Description
A battery-free analog multiturn encoder in a 36 mm housing
The Kübler Sendix M3661 is a miniature absolute multiturn encoder with an analog output, 36 mm in diameter and 53 mm long. It counts revolutions electronically with Energy Harvesting Technology, so it needs neither a gear nor a battery, and it reports the position as a 4 to 20 mA current or a 0 to 10 V or 0 to 5 V voltage that a standard PLC analog input can read. The hollow-shaft sibling is the Sendix M3681 with a blind hollow shaft of up to 10 mm.
Because the output is analog, no SSI, BiSS or fieldbus master is needed. The measuring range is 16 revolutions as shipped and can be scaled up to 65,536 revolutions through the teach inputs, with an optional limit switch function.

Selection notes
The M3661 is a practical fit when a PLC has only analog inputs and the position must be read over several turns, for example on valve or gate actuators, adjustable guides or winding axes. Check that the burden of the analog input is within the output load limits at the supply voltage used, and decide in advance whether the teach inputs will be used for scaling in the field. Supply voltage and output signal are not galvanically isolated, as a datasheet footnote states.

About brand
Kübler is a German family-owned maker of encoders, slip rings and counting and process displays, founded in 1960 by Fritz Kübler in Villingen-Schwenningen, Black Forest. The company started in the family home as Fritz Kübler Feingerätebau, and its first product was a chronometer with a permanent time display. Kübler is now run by the second generation, Gebhard and Lothar Kübler, and has production sites in Europe, Asia and the USA.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Kübler encoders for motion and position feedback in Oman and the GCC.

Kübler product series
Incremental encoders include the Sendix 5000 shaft encoder and the Sendix 5020 hollow shaft encoder, plus the Sendix 7000 and 7020 ATEX and IECEx encoders for Zone 1.
Absolute encoders include the Sendix 5853 singleturn and 5863 multiturn encoders with SSI or BiSS and the 5883 hollow shaft multiturn encoder, and the Sendix M3661 gives a 4-20 mA or 0-10 V analog multiturn output.
Incremental encoders give pulses for speed and relative position, while absolute encoders keep the position after power loss; multiturn types also count revolutions. Hollow shaft encoders mount directly on the motor shaft, and Sendix 7000 and 7020 encoders are for hazardous areas.
Where Kübler encoders are used
Motor speed feedback, cranes and hoists, conveyors, packaging and printing machines, wind turbines and positioning in hazardous areas.
