Brand:

Kübler Sendix 5883 Hollow Shaft Multiturn Absolute Encoder

Description

A hollow-shaft multiturn encoder that slides onto the motor shaft

The Kübler Sendix 5883 is the through hollow-shaft version of the Sendix 58 absolute multiturn family with SSI or BiSS output. It is pushed straight onto a drive or motor shaft and held by a stator coupling or a spring element, so no coupling is needed. Position is stored by a mechanical gear with optical scanning, which means no battery is required, and the maximum resolution is 29 bits (19 bit singleturn plus 12 bit multiturn, 4096 revolutions).

The through hollow shaft can be up to 14 mm (or 1/2 inch), and a blind hollow shaft of 15 mm is also available. Kübler names wind energy and mobile automation as proven fields of use, and the die-cast housing keeps IP67 protection on the housing side with a working range of -40 to +90 C.

Selection and installation notes

Slide the encoder onto the shaft, clamp it with the slotted clamping ring, and secure the housing against rotation with the spring element or stator coupling; Kübler lists a 4 mm torque pin with fixing thread (8.0010.4700.0000) for the spring-element flange. Salt-spray-tested versions such as 8.5883.24X6.XX22-C and stainless steel V4A versions (1.4404) are listed as standard types for corrosive or marine sites.

Resolution, preset value and counting direction are factory-programmable, so specify them when ordering. For a solid-shaft version see the

Kübler Sendix 5863.

, or browse other encoders. Confirm the controller supports the SSI or BiSS clock rate before ordering.

How the Kübler Sendix 5883 works

The encoder slides onto the motor shaft through its hollow shaft. A mechanical gear counts the turns. An optical sensor reads the angle in each turn. Position is held without a battery and is sent out over SSI or BiSS.

About brand

Kübler is a family-owned German manufacturer of encoders and measuring technology, founded in 1960 and based in Villingen-Schwenningen. The company develops and produces rotary encoders, linear measuring systems, inclinometers, counters and displays, signal converters and slip rings for machine builders and plant operators. Seven Star LLC supplies Kübler encoders to industrial customers in Oman and the GCC on inquiry.

Rotary encoders for drives and machinery

The Sendix family covers incremental encoders such as the 5000 and 5020, optical and magnetic absolute encoders with SSI, BiSS or analog outputs, and explosion-protected versions with ATEX and IECEx approvals. One manufacturer can therefore serve drives, cranes, winches, packaging lines and hazardous-area machinery.

Counters, displays and connection technology

The company also lists pulse counters, tachometers, process displays, signal converters, cordsets and connectors that match its encoder range. Choosing the correct variant depends on the shaft or hollow-shaft size, flange, interface, resolution and protection class, and we check every order code against the manufacturer's datasheet before quoting.
