Dwyer Series 3200G Explosion-Proof HART Pressure Transmitter
Description
Series 3200G explosion-proof gauge pressure transmitter with HART
The Dwyer Series 3200G is the gauge-pressure transmitter of the Mercoid smart explosion-proof platform. It senses pressure of gases, steam, liquids and vapors and provides a 4-20 mA signal with HART communication, push-button zero and span configuration and ±0.075 % full-scale accuracy. With five ranges from vacuum and 21 psi up to 8500 psi, it covers a large part of the pressure points in an oil, gas, petrochemical or water facility.
Seven Star LLC supplies the Series 3200G in Oman and the GCC as an independent supplier in Muscat. This page explains the range structure and the options so that a purchase specification can be written without ambiguity.
Series 3200G ranges and ordering code
Standard models are written as 3200G-1-FM-1-1, optionally with -LCD. The range digit gives the span limits: 1 for -14.5 to 21 psi (factory set 0 to 21 psig), 2 for -14.5 to 217 psi (factory set 0 to 217 psig), 3 for 0 to 725 psi, 4 for 0 to 3600 psi and 5 for 0 to 8500 psi. Maximum pressure ratings stated in the chart are 58 psi, 580 psi, 2000 psi, 10,000 psi and 11,600 psi respectively.
The extended code adds the approval (FM, or WP weatherproof only with the 316 SS housing), the process connection (1/2 in female NPT or diaphragm seal), the electrical connection and the seal data: extended or flush diaphragm seal, direct mount or capillary, flange size 2 or 3 in, ANSI rating, and options such as custom calibration, NIST calibration and the LCD.

How the Series 3200G works
The pressure sensor signal is digitized and corrected by the microprocessor for temperature effects, with the correction coefficients held in EEPROM. A fail-mode function preserves configuration in the event of power loss. The transmitter drives a 4-20 mA loop and carries HART, and the optional five-digit LCD can show the value in pressure units, percent or milliamps.
Configuration is by push buttons: apply the lower pressure and press zero, apply the upper pressure and press span. No hand-held calibrator is needed, which saves time in the field. Alternatively, HART software such as the DevCom2000 package listed in the accessories can read and change the settings.
The factory-set 0 to 21 psig and 0 to 217 psig defaults on the vacuum-capable ranges mean the instrument can be re-ranged within its span limits; the minimum span of 0.22 psi on the lowest range shows the practical limit of re-ranging.
Series 3200G within a pressure measurement package
Choose the Series 3200G for line pressure, discharge pressure, tank blanketing pressure and similar single-point measurements where an explosion-proof housing is required. For differential duties use the Series 3100D from the same platform. For general-purpose pressure without the explosion-proof housing, industrial stainless steel units such as the Series 673 and Series 682 from the same maker are alternatives.
The datasheet lists accessories including an SS angle bracket A-630, a flat bracket A-631, a two-valve block manifold BBV-0N and the DevCom2000 HART software.
Selection and ordering checklist for the Series 3200G
- Range code and the working pressure, with margin to the maximum pressure rating
- Process connection or diaphragm seal needs for viscous, hot or corrosive media
- Approval and area classification; the datasheet lists FM and CE
- LCD display
- Bracket and manifold accessories
- Calibration documentation (custom or NIST)
Installing and commissioning the Series 3200G
Mount on a bracket or directly on the process line, using a block valve or manifold for isolation. Connect through the conduit entries with seals suitable for the area classification. Apply the zero reference with the process vented, then set the span with the calibrated reference.
Check the loop with a HART communicator, and set damping to suit the process noise. Periodic verification against a reference gauge or calibrator keeps the stated 0.125 % per year stability within tolerance.
Typical applications in Oman and the GCC
Pressure transmitters of this class are used on separators, compressors, pumps and headers in oil and gas and petrochemical sites, on boiler and steam systems in power and desalination plants, and on process water lines. In hot-climate sites, shade and sun shields help to stay inside the 185 °F ambient limit.
Series 3200G pressure ranges

|---|---|---|
| 1 | -14.5 … 21 psi | 58 psi (4 bar) |
| 2 | -14.5 … 217 psi | 580 psi (40 bar) |
| 3 | 0 … 725 psi | 2000 psi (138 bar) |
| 4 | 0 … 3600 psi | 10,000 psi (690 bar) |
| 5 | 0 … 8500 psi | 11,600 psi (800 bar) |

About brand
Dwyer Instruments is an American maker of pressure, flow, level and temperature instruments, founded in Chicago in 1931 as F.W. Dwyer Manufacturing Company to make liquid-filled manometers. It later moved to Michigan City, Indiana, and became known for the Magnehelic differential pressure gauge. Dwyer bought OMEGA Engineering in 2022, and the combined business trades as DwyerOmega.
Seven Star LLC sources and supplies Dwyer instruments for projects and plant maintenance in Oman and the GCC, and checks each order code against the manufacturer's documentation.

Dwyer product families on this page
Four Dwyer lines are listed. The Magnehelic 2000 is a diaphragm-type differential pressure gauge for air and compatible non-combustible gases. The Photohelic 3000MR and 3000MRS combine the gauge with switching, with relay (MR) or solid-state (MRS) outputs. The Series MSX Magnesense is a differential pressure transmitter for building and HVAC air systems. The Flotect V6 is a flow switch; the listed V6EPS-S-S-4-S version is SPDT, in stainless steel, for 1-1/4 inch lines.

Ordering Dwyer instruments: what we need
Send the full model number from the dial or label, because the range is part of it: a 2000-series Magnehelic number changes with the scale and the units. For Photohelic units add the supply voltage and output type. For Dwyer pressure transmitters state range, output signal and display option. For flow switches give line size, medium, wetted material and enclosure type. Recent paperwork may carry the DwyerOmega name; the model numbers stay the reference.
Facts checked against DwyerOmega's Dwyer brand page and HVAC Today, October 2026.
