Types of water meter in this category
Static meters such as the Kamstrup flowIQ 2200, 3100, 3200 and 4200 and Sensus iPERL and Cordonel use ultrasonic or electromagnetic measurement with no moving parts. Electromagnetic water meters like the ABB AquaMaster3 and AquaMaster4, KROHNE WATERFLUX 3070, 3100 and 3300 and ABB WaterMaster serve district metering and bulk supply. Mechanical meters include Sensus 620 and 640 volumetric, 420 multijet, DomoJet single jet, WP-Dynamic turbine and MeiStream Plus, and Badger Meter Recordall disc, turbo and compound meters.
How to select a water meter
Define the nominal size, the permanent flow Q3 and the range ratio (R) needed for low-flow accuracy. Choose static meters for long-term accuracy and remote reading, mechanical meters for cost-sensitive domestic use. Specify connection, pressure rating, approval (MID or OIML R49), and communication such as pulse, wM-Bus, LoRaWAN or Modbus.
