Exchangeable module and readout options

The metrological unit is a pattern-approved exchangeable module of engineering polymer in a cast iron body, and the complete meter can be submerged to IP68. The register is prepared for HRI-Mei pick-up and optical OD pulsers can still be used. An encoder register for direct readout over M-Bus, MiniBus, Sensus or IEC 1107 protocols is available, as is a factory-mounted HRI-Mei, a quarter inch pressure monitoring port and a version for use in hazardous areas. Short WP and long WS overall lengths are offered to DIN 19625 and ISO 4064-1:2017.

Choosing size and checking the data

The data sheet gives two sets of values: the manufacturer’s values (for example a continuous flow Q3’ of 30 m3/h and a peak flow Q5 of 50 m3/h at DN 40) and the MID approved values (Q3 of 25 m3/h at DN 40). Use the MID values for billing duty and the manufacturer values for hydraulic sizing. The maximum ratio rises from 315 at DN 40 to 630 at DN 150, although the standard marking is 315 across the range. The head loss at Q3 is between 0.07 and 0.17 bar depending on size. Confirm the lay length, pulse or encoder option, hazardous area need and the approvals required by the utility; the certificates stated are the European MID ones.
