Pixsys ATR121 PID Temperature Controller 32×74 mm, 2 Relays
Description
ATR121 is the entry-level PID controller in the Pixsys range: a 32×74 mm panel unit with a three-digit red display, one universal analogue input, two relay outputs and a logic output for a solid state relay. It does ON-OFF, P, PI, PID or PD control, works as a plain indicator when the outputs are not needed, and is available for a low-voltage or a 230 V supply.
Two setpoints, three LEDs and a keypad in a 32 mm high bezel
The three-digit display shows the process value and three LEDs report the state of the command output (OUT1), the alarm output (OUT2) and serial activity (L1). The datasheet describes three operating modes selectable by parameter: visualizer, single setpoint and double setpoint, so the same hardware can serve as a simple indicator, a thermostat or a controller with a second threshold.
A distinctive item is the memory card. Parameters and setpoints are copied between controllers with a card that has its own coin battery (code 2100.30.003, about 1000 operations according to the manual), so a replacement unit can be loaded without powering either controller. The manual adds that parameters can only be transferred to a device with the same code.
What the datasheet and manual list
- 16-bit universal input: thermocouples, RTD and thermistor probes, 0/4-20 mA, 0-10 V, 0-40 mV and 6 kΩ or 150 kΩ potentiometers.
- Control: ON-OFF with hysteresis, P, PI, PID, PD time-proportioned, dead band, heating/cooling double PID, open/close logic for motorized valves.
- Alarms: absolute or threshold, band, high or low deviation, with optional manual reset.
- Manual tuning, or automatic tuning at switch-on and whenever the setpoint is raised above 35 %.
- LATCH ON function to teach scale limits from a linear potentiometer or transmitter, with virtual zero.

ATR121-AD or ATR121-B
The only choice is the supply. The AD code runs from a 12 to 24 V AC or 12 to 35 V DC source and drives an SSR at 12 to 35 V DC; the B code connects directly to a 230 V AC line and gives an 8 V DC SSR drive. Both have the same two relays, the same input list and the same keypad. No serial port is listed for this model in the datasheet, although the third LED is reserved for serial activity; for Modbus RS485 select the ATR124 or ATR144 -T versions.
Wiring and commissioning notes
The manual requires a switch or breaker near the unit and a 1 A fuse on the supply, and it limits use to indoor locations away from radiated heat, dust, corrosive gas, vibration and condensation. It warns that relay contacts used beyond their rated life can weld, so size the relay duty carefully or drive a contactor through the SSR output.
Enter configuration with the FNC key and the password 123; the password 999 restores factory defaults. For a heating/cooling loop set reG. to Hea with a non-zero proportional band and make the alarm the cooling output; the multiplier p.b.m runs from 1.00 to 5.00 and the coolant preset gives 1.00 for air, 1.25 for oil, 2.50 for water.
Where an entry-level controller fits
Common jobs are oven and furnace thermostats, heat-sealing bars, hot-water and process heaters, and pressure or level indication with a 4-20 mA transmitter and a pump alarm. The IP54 front suits indoor panels; if the panel is washed down or dusty, order the gasket and keep the box in a closed cabinet.
