Stainless steel where carbon steel is not enough

Stainless bodies are chosen for aggressive atmospheres such as coastal or washdown areas, and for low-temperature service where the design code asks for a material with proven toughness. The SS series has its own data sheet, separate from the carbon-steel SVA-S/L data sheet, so the right document is attached here.

Socket-weld connections with ASME B 16.11 dimensions suit US-style pipe specifications and small-bore pipework, and differ from the EN 10220 butt-weld codes used for the carbon-steel valves in the same range. The two are not interchangeable without changing the pipe preparation.

Checks before ordering

Match connection standard, wall thickness and pipe material to the plant specification, and confirm refrigerant compatibility from the data sheet. Weld with an approved stainless procedure and keep heat away from the seat; the installation guide for SVA-S/L SS 15-150 describes the sequence.

Choosing Danfoss products

For solenoid valves, check the operating principle. A direct-operated valve such as EV210B opens even at 0 bar differential pressure. A servo-operated valve such as EV220B needs a minimum differential (typically about 0.3 bar) to open, while an assisted-lift valve such as EV250B works from 0 bar. Coils are ordered separately, so the voltage on the coil (for example 230 V AC or 24 V DC) must match the control circuit. For drives, the VLT family is split by application: FC 51 Micro Drive for small machines, FC 102 HVAC Drive for fans and pumps in buildings, FC 202 AQUA Drive for water, and FC 302 AutomationDrive for demanding industrial duty.
