Veeder-Root TLS4B Non-Expandable Tank Gauge Console

Description

Web-enabled tank gauge that replaces manual dipping

The Veeder-Root TLS4B automatic tank gauge is a non-expandable console for customers who want to streamline inventory management with web-enabled technology and stop manual dipping. With two-wire devices it provides six universal sensor or probe inputs.

It uses the same family look and software platform as the TLS4: a 7 inch colour WVGA touch screen (or a no-display version), SD-card storage, user-specific log-in, custom alarms, on-console help and extended storage. Static in-tank leak detection for underground tanks is an optional software feature here rather than part of the base package.

What the TLS4B includes and leaves out

The compatibility guide for the TLS4B shows modular and expandable features as not applicable, along with multiple-line manifold tank support, continuous statistical leak detection, integral line leak detection and the integral printer. Tank tightness testing (0.1 and 0.2 GPH) and selectable test rates are optional, as are BIR, AccuChart and the calibration features. Inventory reports, tank-annulus, sump, dispenser-pan and mag-sump sensing, vapour-well and groundwater monitoring, and the standard alarms are supported.

Security settings are slightly reduced against the TLS4: the datasheet lists port control and reassignment, system integrator CVE scans and periodic updates, without the partitioned Ethernet ports of the larger consoles.

When the TLS4B fits

The TLS4B suits sites with a few tanks that mainly need reliable inventory and basic alarms. If you expect more than six probes and sensors, plan for the TLS4 or TLS-450PLUS instead, because the TLS4B cannot be expanded. Order optional software together with the console because feature upgrades are shipped as a kit with an iButton (0333530-002).

How the Veeder-Root TLS4B works

The TLS4B is a console that reads in-tank probes and sensors. A probe inside a fuel tank reports the product level, the water level and the temperature, and the console turns these into volume. It stores the readings on an SD card and shows them on a seven inch touch screen. Alarms are raised if a level, a leak sensor or a relay input crosses its limit. Through the Ethernet port the console serves web pages, so staff can read inventory from a PC without dipping the tank.

Where the Veeder-Root TLS4B is used

  • Fuel stations and forecourts
  • Fleet and depot fuel tanks
  • Airport and marine fuel stores
  • Generator fuel monitoring
  • Remote inventory reporting

Selection checklist for the Veeder-Root TLS4B

  • Six probe or sensor inputs, no expansion
  • Touch screen or no display
  • EDIM or IFSF module
  • UL or ATEX console number
  • Software options such as static leak detection
  • Relay outputs, two at 5 A
  • Serial ports, RS-232 or RS-485
  • AC or DC supply

Installation, commissioning and maintenance notes for the TLS4B

Mount the console indoors or in a NEMA 4 location. Run shielded cable for probes and sensors, keeping each run within the limit in the data sheet. Connect the supply, the network and any relays, then set up the tanks, probes and alarms in the software. Run a test of each alarm after set up and back up the settings to the SD card.

Requesting a quotation for the Veeder-Root TLS4B

Please send the console number, the number of probes and sensors, the software options and the quantity. Seven Star LLC serves industrial customers in Oman and the GCC and replies with a quotation based on the information provided.

TLS4B ports and relays

The console has one Ethernet port, two USB 2.0 ports and two isolated serial ports. There are two relay outputs and one low-voltage input.

TLS4B supply and environment

The AC supply is 100 to 249 V at 50 or 60 Hz. The console works from 32 to 122 degrees F.

TLS4B enclosure

The case is powder-coated 16 GA steel, 13 by 8 by 3.5 inches.

TLS4B software options

Options include static in-tank leak detection, hourly reconciliation, timed sudden loss detection and a vapor collection monitor.

Gauge records for the TLS4B

Keep the tank chart, probe serial numbers and alarm settings with the site file.

Choosing the right TLS4B console

Choose a larger console if you need more than six inputs, since this model cannot expand.

About brand

Veeder-Root is a fuel management specialist based in Simsbury, Connecticut, USA, founded in 1866 and part of Vontier. It is best known for TLS automatic tank gauges, magnetostrictive in-tank probes and leak detection sensors for fuel storage.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Veeder-Root consoles, probes and sensors from the maker's published datasheets for fuel stations, depots and airports in Oman and the GCC.

Veeder-Root product series

Tank gauge consoles include the TLS4 and the non-expandable TLS4B, the TLS-450PLUS and the legacy TLS-350PLUS. Mag Plus in-tank probes are offered for gasoline and diesel, jet fuel, LPG and light and heavy oil, and Mag-FLEX probes cover tall tanks. Leak detection sensors include the discriminating containment sump sensor 0794380-352 and the interstitial sensor 0794390-420 for double-wall steel tanks. The EMR4 electronic meter register is used on fuel delivery trucks.
