Druck PV411A Four-in-One Pressure and Vacuum Hand Pump up to 700 bar

One hand pump for vacuum, low pressure, medium pressure and hydraulic work

The Druck PV411A is a multi-function hand pump that Druck describes as replacing four conventional hand pumps. It generates vacuum to -0.95 bar (-28.5 inHg), low and medium pneumatic pressure to 60 bar (900 psi), and hydraulic pressure to 700 bar (10,000 psi), with a stroke restrictor for sensitive low-pressure work.

A unique vacuum priming function removes trapped air from a hydraulic line, a volume adjuster generates the high pressures without the physical effort of conventional hand pumps, and the pressure/vacuum selector valve also gives fine pressure relief in both pneumatic and hydraulic modes. A tamper-proof adjustable overpressure valve can be set from 20 to 700 bar (300 to 10,000 psi).

The removable hydraulic reservoir can be disconnected without draining the fluid and has a spring-loaded cover that vents if pressurised above 8 psi. A 240 degree swivel head lets the user read reference indicators from any angle, and internal parts are PTFE anodised for lower friction and wear.

Pump codes are PV411A (BSP connections), PV411A-20 (NPT connections with a 100 cc hydraulic reservoir), PV411A-P (pneumatic test kit, BSP, in a transit case with hose, seals and test point adaptors), PV411A-HP (pneumatic and hydraulic test kit, BSP, with a 0.5 m high-pressure hose and 100 cc reservoir) and PV411AHA (hydraulic hand pump and accessory kit, NPT, with a 1 m hose).

Kits with a digital test gauge follow the PV411-104 ordering table: DPI104 or DPI104-IS, hydraulic/pneumatic (HP), BSP or NPT fitting and gauge range from 7 bar (100 psi) to 700 bar (10,000 psi), gauge or absolute. Accessories include transit case PV411-100, high pressure hoses of 0.5, 1.5 and 2 m, BSP, NPT and metric test point adaptor sets, 100 cc and 200 cc reservoirs and swivel adaptors.

What to confirm before ordering

Specify the pressure medium and whether the same pump must be used for both hydraulic and pneumatic tests, because residual fluid can remain in the common system. Choose BSP or NPT, the relief valve setting, the reservoir size and the hose length, and say whether a DPI104 gauge kit is required.

How the Druck PV411A works

A hand pump makes a test pressure so that a gauge or a transmitter can be checked against a reference. In the PV411A, a selector valve changes between vacuum and pressure, and a volume adjuster lets the user raise pressure to the high values without much effort. In the pneumatic mode it covers vacuum to -0.95 bar and pressure to 60 bar. In the hydraulic mode, with a fluid reservoir, it reaches 700 bar. The vacuum priming function removes trapped air from a hydraulic line.

Installation, commissioning and maintenance notes

Connect the pump to the test point with a hose and adapters rated for the test pressure. Set the overpressure valve below the limit of the device under test. In hydraulic work, use distilled water without alcohol or the mineral oil, and use distilled water when both pneumatic and hydraulic work is done. Release the pressure slowly with the selector valve before disconnecting. Keep the reservoir clean and store the pump in a case.

Fine pressure control

The selector valve also gives fine pressure relief in both the pneumatic and the hydraulic modes, which helps when setting a switch point.
