Brand:

DEIF AGC 150 Advanced Genset, Mains and BTB Controller

Description

One controller family for gensets, mains breakers and bus ties

The DEIF AGC 150 is a compact all-in-one controller that protects and controls a genset and its breaker. The same hardware family is available as a Generator controller, a Mains controller that controls the mains and tie breakers, and a BTB controller for bus tie breakers. Each unit contains the full three-phase measuring circuits, and values and alarms are shown on a sunlight-readable LCD.

A single AGC 150 can run one genset, several can share load over CANshare without power management, and a group can form a power management system (PMS) with synchronisation, island operation and parallel-to-mains running. DEIF lists applications such as AMF, fixed power, peak shaving, load take-over and mains power export, and the controllers can work in a PMS together with other DEIF controllers.

Protections and engine interface

The protection table lists reverse power (32R), fast over-current (50P) with operate time below 40 ms, over-current, voltage-dependent over-current, over and under voltage and frequency, voltage and current unbalance, over and under excitation, earth and neutral inverse time over-current, vector shift (78), ROCOF df/dt (81R), directional over-current (67) and sequence-component protections. Which functions apply depends on the controller type and software package.

For engines the controller connects over J1939 and CANopen using DEIF engine specifications, supports Tier 4 and Stage V exhaust after-treatment, and works with digital voltage controllers such as the DVC 550, remote I/O (CIO 116, 208 and 308, IOM 220 and 230), the TDU touch display, the AOP-2 operator panel and the SDU 104 shutdown unit.

Selecting the AGC 150 variant

The controller type is set in Basic settings under Controller settings, and the software package decides which types are available: Stand-alone supports only non-synchronising applications, Core adds synchronisation, and Extended and Premium allow any type. State the role (generator, mains or BTB), the software package, the number of units in the system, the engine make and ECU protocol and the display or remote display needed. AGC 150 is also the hardware base of other DEIF controller types listed in the datasheet, for example engine drive and hybrid genset-solar.

Documents and quotation

The attached DEIF data sheet covers the Generator, Mains and BTB controllers. Send the role, software package, quantity and engine details for a quotation. For other generator control products see Diesel Generator Spare Parts.

About brand

DEIF is a Danish, family-owned and independent manufacturer of control and protection devices for power generation, founded in a Copenhagen backyard in 1933 and now based in Skive. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, quotes DEIF AGC, SGC and CGC genset controllers for standby plants, paralleling systems and engine-driven sets.

DEIF genset and power management controllers

DEIF describes itself as a supplier of power control solutions for decentralised power generation on land and at sea. Its genset controllers range from the compact SGC and CGC units to the AGC 150 and AGC-4 Mk II controllers, which add synchronisation and power management for plants with many gensets. DEIF data sheets state the supply range, I/O, protections and approvals of each controller.

Ordering DEIF controllers

Name the exact model and variant, the software package or option letters where they apply, the quantity and the engine make and ECU protocol. DEIF configures several controllers by variant and option, so the data sheet on each page should be checked against the project before a quotation is issued.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between AGC 150 Generator, Mains and BTB?
They are controller types on the same hardware: Generator controls a genset and breaker, Mains controls a mains and tie breaker, and BTB controls a bus tie breaker in a power management system.
Which software packages exist?
Stand-alone, Core, Extended and Premium. Stand-alone supports non-synchronising applications only; Core adds synchronisation.
What supply voltage does it need?
12 or 24 V DC nominal, with an operating range of 6.5 to 36 V DC.
What ingress protection does it have?
IP65 at the front when mounted with the supplied gasket, and IP20 on the terminal side.
Does it have UL approval?
The data sheet lists UL/cUL Listed to UL/ULC6200:2019 1st edition, for controllers used in power production.
