C-TEC CFP704-4 4-Zone Conventional Fire Alarm Panel
Description
The C-TEC CFP704-4 is a four-zone conventional fire alarm control panel from the CFP Standard range. It has four detector zone circuits, four conventional sounder circuits and an integral 1.5 A EN54-4 switch-mode power supply in a compact plastic enclosure that mounts on the surface or flush without a bezel. It suits small offices, stores, camps, workshops and buildings that need straightforward zoned detection rather than an addressable system.
Technical specifications
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Model | CFP704-4, CFP Standard 4 zone conventional panel |
| Approvals | EN54-2 and EN54-4 (LPCB); EN54-13 (Kiwa Telefication) |
| Detector zones | 4 circuits, maximum 500 m each; up to 25 detectors per zone (or 32 detectors and manual call points combined); call point resistor 470 to 680 ohm |
| Sounder circuits | 4 conventional circuits, maximum 500 m each; 4 x 200 mA (800 mA total); end-of-line resistor 6800 ohm; alarm voltage 20 to 27 V |
| Relay outputs | 2 volt-free single-pole changeover relays (auxiliary fire and fault), 1 A, 30 V DC maximum |
| Open-collector outputs | 2: reset (active during reset cycle) and remote (active during any unsilenced fire condition once delays expire), 30 mA maximum sink current |
| Inputs | 2: class change (constant sounders) and alert (pulsed sounders), triggered by connecting to 0 V |
| Auxiliary power | 24 V auxiliary output, protected by a resettable fuse, 100 mA minimum hold current |
| Engineer functions (access level 3) | Coincidence (double knock), one-man walk test, delays, non-latching zones, sounder re-sound programming |
| Mains supply | 230 V AC, 50/60 Hz, 350 mA maximum |
| Internal power supply | 19 to 28.5 V (27 V nominal); total output current limited to 1.5 A at 230 V AC |
| Quiescent current | 25 mA |
| Batteries | 2 x 12 V 3.2 Ah VRLA in series (minimum 1.2 Ah) |

Zones, devices and cable limits
A conventional panel reports the zone, not the individual device, so the design starts with the building plan: each zone should cover a defined area, and the zone circuit must stay within the 500 m cable limit and the device count in the table. Detectors, call points and sounders must be compatible with the panel; C-TEC states that the CFP is fully compatible with its ActiV detectors, sounders and visual alarm devices, and the call point resistor and end-of-line value must match the table. The panel offers coincidence, zone delay and non-latching zones, which are set at engineer level.
Choosing between CFP panels
The CFP Standard range comes in two, four and eight zone versions that share the same enclosure style, and the order code carries the zone count, so check the digits before ordering. The four-zone panel gives room to grow compared with a two-zone unit without the cost of an eight-zone panel such as the C-TEC CFP708-4 8-zone conventional fire alarm panel. Other control equipment is listed under fire and gas logic controllers. If addressable detection is required, an XFP addressable panel is the correct product family.

It is a manual, not a short datasheet, so use the table above for a quick comparison. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, will quote on request; please provide the zone count, mounting method and the detectors and sounders you plan to connect.

About brand
C-TEC has made life safety electronics in Wigan, United Kingdom since 1981: fire alarm panels, detectors, power supplies, disabled refuge and call systems. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Oman, lists C-TEC panels and detectors such as the XFP501/CA single loop addressable fire panel, the CP416 CAST-PRO addressable optical smoke detector and the CFP708-4 eight zone conventional fire alarm panel.
C-TEC fire alarm families
The manufacturer divides fire systems into conventional and addressable. On the conventional side are the CFP panels in 2 to 8 zones, with ActiV detectors, sounders and call points. On the addressable side, XFP panels cover one or two loops and ZFP panels up to eight, working with C-TEC's own CAST protocol and CAST-PRO devices. Addressable panels are also made for Apollo XP95 and Discovery and for Hochiki ESP devices, so the protocol of a panel must match the detectors on its loop. EN54-4 power supplies, SigTEL refuge systems and EVAC-ALERT panels complete the range.
Ordering C-TEC equipment: what we need
Send the full part number including the suffix after the slash, which separates protocol versions of the same panel. Tell us the detector protocol already on site, the number of loops or zones, and any network or repeater requirement. For projects in the GCC, name the approval the consultant specifies so we request the matching certificates from the manufacturer.
