UE Systems Ultraprobe 201 Grease Caddy
Description
The UE Systems Ultraprobe 201 Grease Caddy lets one person lubricate a bearing and monitor its ultrasound at the same time. It mounts on a cartridge grease gun, converts bearing noise to a sound the technician hears in a headset, and lights a ten-segment bar so the grease can be stopped before the bearing is over-filled.
A simple ultrasound caddy for grease guns
The 201 is the straightforward member of the grease caddy range: there is a sensitivity dial, a red LED bar and headphones, and the brochure lists no menus or data memory. As lubricant levels fall, friction rises and produces ultrasonic waves that are directional and localised. The caddy focuses on those waves, even in a noisy plant, and the user listens for the point at which the sound settles.
UE Systems says the aim is to prevent over-lubrication, extend equipment life, save working hours and cut operating costs.

Choosing between the 201 and the 401
If you need only a live indication while greasing, the 201 is enough. The 401 adds a digital dB display, 400 storage locations, route upload and download and trending through Ultratrend; the 201 has none of these. The 201 is lighter in the hand at 0.45 kg and runs on a nickel metal hydride pack, while the 401 uses lithium polymer.
A mounting kit is included, and the caddy has a magnetically mounted transducer, a swivel base for awkward angles and a front-end lamp. Heavy-duty headphones are provided for noisy areas. The brochure states a one-year manufacturer warranty, extended to five years once the registration card is completed; actual terms are confirmed in the quotation.
Because ultrasound is localised, the user should place the transducer on the bearing housing as close to the bearing as possible and keep the same contact point at each visit, so that readings can be compared from one route to the next. Hearing the sound also helps separate a lubrication problem from rubbing or impact noise.

Our photograph is the manufacturer’s image of the caddy mounted on a lever grease gun, without a model label, and the gun is not part of the product. Please confirm the gun type, charging requirement, optional holster or case and whether you would prefer the 401 before ordering. Send us the model, quantity and delivery location and we will prepare a quotation; Seven Star LLC supplies from Muscat as an independent supplier. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list UE Systems instruments for maintenance and reliability teams in Oman and the GCC.
UE Systems product series
The Ultraprobe 9000 is a digital ultrasonic inspection instrument. The Ultraprobe 201 Grease Caddy and Ultraprobe 401 Digital Grease Caddy Pro attach to a grease gun to guide lubrication.
Ultrasound detects high-frequency sounds from leaks, electrical discharge, bearing friction and valve and steam trap operation. When greasing a bearing, the sound level falls as the lubricant reaches the friction point, which helps avoid both under- and over-greasing.
The Ultraprobe 9000 converts ultrasound to audible sound in headphones and shows the level on a display, with interchangeable scanning and contact modules for airborne and structure-borne inspection. Surveys of compressed air leaks often find large energy savings, and checking electrical panels for arcing, tracking and corona supports safe maintenance.
Where UE Systems instruments are used
