AMETEK WDG 1200 and WDG 1210 Insitu Zirconia Flue Gas O2 Analyzers
Description
The AMETEK WDG 1200/INSITU and WDG 1210/INSITU are in-situ flue gas analyzers that measure net oxygen with a zirconium oxide sensor. The WDG 1200 has the electronics mounted integrally on the probe, while the WDG 1210 uses remote electronics. Both are designed for combustion efficiency monitoring on boilers, furnaces and heaters.
Seven Star LLC supplies the WDG 1200/1210 from Muscat with the manufacturer data sheet available before quotation.
Zirconia oxygen sensing with a field-serviceable probe
AMETEK describes the sensor as industry-proven zirconium oxide technology. The controller provides precision temperature control for stable readings and over-temperature protection of the sensor heater. Internal diagnostics, a Modbus interface and a 4 to 20 mA output are standard.
The distinctive feature is the sensor design: the entire sensor assembly, including the heater, can be removed without disturbing the outer protection tube, which remains in the process. The data sheet states that this makes field service fast and that the probe does not have to be returned to the factory for repair.
- Probe lengths from 0.4 to 3.0 m
- Process connection from 2 inch NPT (male) to a 6 inch flange
- Single-line four-digit LED display with fault indication and error codes
- Option to track or hold the output during calibration

Applications and what to confirm before ordering
AMETEK lists combustion efficiency and control, gas, oil or coal-fired boilers, NOx reduction systems, shipboard boilers, excess air measurement and pollution control as applications. Key markets include package and bio-fuel boilers, power generation, combined cycle plants, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and incineration furnaces.
Before ordering, confirm the probe length and process connection, whether integral (WDG 1200) or remote (WDG 1210) electronics are required, the O2 range to be scaled, and the mains supply. The data sheet gives no hazardous-area approval for these models, so confirm area classification separately with the manufacturer.
How the AMETEK WDG 1200/INSITU zirconia analyzer works
A zirconium oxide sensor is a ceramic cell that is heated to a high, steady temperature. When the oxygen level on one side of the cell differs from the level on the other side, the cell produces a small voltage, and this voltage depends on the ratio of the two levels. One side sees the flue gas and the other sees a reference of known oxygen content, so the voltage gives the net oxygen in the gas. Because the probe sits directly in the stack or duct, the reading is quick and no sample line is needed. The controller keeps the heater at a stable temperature and protects it against over-temperature.
Where the WDG 1200/INSITU is used
- Combustion efficiency control on gas, oil or coal-fired boilers.
- Furnaces and process heaters.
- Shipboard boilers.
- Excess air measurement and NOx reduction systems.
- Pollution control and emission monitoring support.
Selection checklist for the WDG 1200/INSITU
- Model: WDG 1200 with integral electronics, or WDG 1210 with remote electronics.
- Probe length from 0.4 to 3.0 m, to reach into the gas stream.
- Process connection from 2 inch NPT to a 6 inch flange.
- Measuring range from 0 to 1 percent up to 0 to 25 percent oxygen.
- Analog output of 0 to 20 or 4 to 20 mA, and Modbus over RS485.
- Alarm relays rated 2 A at 30 V AC or DC.
- Power supply of 85 to 264 VAC.
- Ambient temperature from -20 to 71 degrees C for the electronics.
- Enclosure of NEMA 4X, IP65, and the distance to remote electronics, up to 300 m.
Installation, commissioning and maintenance notes
Fit the probe in a position where the gas is well mixed and where the temperature suits the sensor. Make sure the flange or pipe thread is gas-tight, so that air does not leak in and distort the reading. Calibrate the analyzer with test gases as the manual states, and use the track or hold option so the control system does not react to the calibration. The sensor and heater can be removed without disturbing the outer protection tube, so service is done in the field.
Requesting a quotation for the AMETEK WDG 1200/INSITU
Send the model, the probe length, the process connection and the output needed. Seven Star LLC serves industrial customers in Oman and the GCC and replies with a quotation based on the information provided.
Why oxygen trim saves fuel
Too much air carries heat up the stack, and too little air causes unburned fuel and soot. Measuring the oxygen lets the burner control hold the air near the best value.
Diagnostics and display
A four-digit LED display shows the reading, fault indication and error codes, so a technician can see the state at the unit.
Records and calibration log
Keep the calibration dates, the test gas values and the sensor service history in the plant record.
Documents and quotation
To request a quotation for the WDG 1200 or WDG 1210 analyzer, send Seven Star LLC the full model or order code, quantity, and any nameplate data from an existing unit that is being replaced or matched. Our Muscat team checks the request against the manufacturer document, which can be downloaded from this page, and replies with a formal quotation. Prices, stock and lead times are confirmed per inquiry.

About brand
Process analyzers for sulfur recovery, moisture and combustion are the AMETEK products most often requested by gas plants and refineries. AMETEK, a US instrument manufacturer founded in 1930 and based in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, sells them under names such as Western Research, Thermox and Drexelbrook. Seven Star LLC lists AMETEK gas analyzers, analyzer spare parts and level transmitters, and sources them for process plants in Oman.
AMETEK analyzers and parts listed
The AMETEK products on this page include:
- 5100HD and the transportable 5100P: tunable diode laser (TDLAS) analyzers, used for example for moisture in natural gas
- 3050-OLV: process moisture analyzer, with spare boards such as 305110902S
- Thermox WDG-V: flue gas oxygen analyzer for combustion control
- Western Research 900 air demand analyzer and 930 analyzer for H2S in sulfur pits
- Drexelbrook RCT-1210 RF level transmitter
- Spare parts: PCB assemblies, a protected gold mirror and hollow cathode lamps
Where AMETEK analyzers are used
The 900 air demand analyzer sits on the tail gas of a Claus sulfur recovery unit and measures H2S and SO2 so the air to the reaction furnace can be trimmed. The 930 watches the vapor space of the sulfur pit. Moisture analyzers such as the 3050-OLV and 5100HD serve gas dehydration, pipeline and LNG feed gas, and the Thermox WDG-V measures excess oxygen on fired heaters and boilers. These duties are common in gas processing and refining across the GCC.
Ordering AMETEK analyzers and spares: what we need
For spare parts, send the AMETEK part number, the analyzer model and its serial number. Boards and optical parts change with analyzer revision, and the serial number lets the build be checked in the manufacturer's records. For a new analyzer we need the stream composition, the component and range to be measured, sample pressure and temperature, area classification, power supply, outputs and whether a sample system or shelter is included. For Drexelbrook level transmitters give the full model number, the probe length and the process material.
