Accuenergy Acuvim L Multifunction Power and Energy Meter

Description

Acuvim L is the Accuenergy multifunction power and energy meter for standard metering projects. It comes as the Acuvim-EL, with revenue-grade class 0.2s energy and harmonics to the 63rd order, and as the Acuvim-CL, with class 0.5s energy and harmonics to the 31st, in panel-mount or DIN rail form.

A cost-effective meter with a fourth CT and cybersecurity focus

The datasheet describes the Acuvim L as designed with industry-leading cybersecurity and compatible with 5 A, Rogowski coil or 333 mV current outputs. A fourth CT input measures neutral current, and a 512 samples-per-cycle rate gives a one-second Modbus update.

Remote access paired with the AXM-WEB2 module lets users reach the meter web server through a static URL, reverse the polarity of individual CT inputs remotely and use phase selection to map the correct CT to the voltage inputs without rewiring.

Features stated in the datasheet

  • Dual Ethernet ports with RSTP daisy-chain mode or separately configurable networks (module).
  • Three assignable historical logs and a real-time clock; 8 MB memory, 8 GB with the WEB2 module.
  • Four-tariff time of use; 16 alarms from 80 parameters.
  • Up to three I/O modules: digital input and output, pulse, relay, analogue input and output.

Order code

The order code is Meter Model – Mounting Option – Current Input – Power Supply: Acuvim-CL (energy class 0.5, harmonics to 31st) or Acuvim-EL (energy class 0.2, harmonics to 63rd); D for LCD panel meter or M for DIN-rail transducer without display; 5A or mV; P1V4 or P2V4. Examples: Acuvim-EL-D-5A-P1V4 and Acuvim-CL-M-mV-P2V4.

Add -S after the power supply for the anti-tampering seal option. Remote display REM-DS1V4 is for the DIN-rail M version; AXM-DIN is the DIN rail adapter.

Installation notes

A maximum of three modules can be attached to one meter. A communication module such as AXM-WEB2 must be fitted on the back first, and no more than two of the same I/O module may be attached, each with a different logic number.

Accuenergy suggests three CTs for each three-phase circuit and a USB-RS485 converter for configuration. An IP66/NEMA 4X cover is available for the display.

Applications

Listed uses are submetering and billing allocation, SCADA, commercial metering for LEED and ISO 50001 style sustainability reporting, energy management systems, measurement and verification, switchgear and switchboard monitoring and building automation. General engineering note: choose EL when harmonic content up to the 63rd order matters, CL for plain energy allocation.

Commissioning and enquiry notes

Multifunction meters of this class are used in the region in commercial buildings, industrial plants, hospitals and utility substations, for energy monitoring, load management and sub-billing. The fourth CT input can measure neutral current, which is useful where unbalanced or non-linear loads such as drives, UPS systems and LED lighting cause high neutral current. Set the wiring mode, CT and PT ratios and communication settings at commissioning.

Oman’s networks run at 50 Hz. Check the panel’s internal temperature in summer against the meter rating. Where readings are used for billing, confirm which approvals the local authority requires.

Record the settings of each meter at commissioning, so replacements and later checks can be configured the same way.
