Brand:

Accuenergy AcuDC-301 EV Charging DC Energy Meter, 650 A

Description

AcuDC-301 is the Accuenergy DC meter built for electric vehicle fast-charging stations. It measures 60 to 1000 Vdc directly at 0.1 percent accuracy and current to 650 A through a built-in shunt at 0.2 percent, and it meets IEC 62053-41 class 0.5, EN50470-4 class C and MID 2014/32/EU. It reports signed OCMF data for billing.

Revenue-grade charging data with a tamper-evident seal

A charger meter must bill the energy the car receives, not what the grid delivered, so the AcuDC-301 includes cable loss compensation with a configurable resistor. Non-volatile memory holds a transaction log of up to 61,440 charging-session records in OCMF v1.4.1 JSON format, readable over Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP/IP, and an Eich log of up to 6,000 metrological audit events.

An electronic seal, switched by a meter seal switch under a protective cover, locks certain settings when active; a physical seal can additionally secure the cover. The datasheet states conformity with PTB-A 50.7, PTB-8.51-MB10-Krypto and REA 6A, and German Eichrecht MessEV.

Features stated in the datasheet

  • Compact housing, 125 mm long, 69 mm wide and 125 mm high, for 35 mm DIN rail mounting inside the charger.
  • HMI display for real-time query and configuration; Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP communication.
  • Label data printed in the datasheet: 100 imp/kWh, 60 – 1000 VDC CAT II, 3.9 – 130 (650) A, -40 to 70 C, 24 VDC auxiliary.
  • MID certified and UL Recognized for international markets, as stated by the manufacturer.

Order code

Order as Meter Model – Voltage Input – Current Input – Power Supply: AcuDC-301-1000V-650A-P2, with the MID suffix for the certified version (example AcuDC-301-1000V-650A-P2-MID). 1000V is the direct connect voltage input, 650A the direct connect built-in shunt and P2 the 24 VDC input.

The P2 power supply is sold separately. Accuenergy recommends the AcuLink-RIK-PSU, a 9 – 36 VDC input unit with DIN rail mounting.

Installation notes

The typical wiring diagram connects V+ and V- on the main circuit, the load through the built-in shunt, a 24 VDC supply and RS485 terminals; the seal switch sits behind the cover. Install the meter on 35 mm DIN rail inside the charging cabinet next to the AC/DC converter and circuit breaker shown in the datasheet block diagram.

Check the legal-for-trade version required by the market before ordering, because the MID, Eichrecht and REA 6A statements are tied to the certified configuration.

Applications

Listed uses are EV fast charging, renewable energy, solar PV, wind generation, transportation, telecommunications and power distribution. General engineering note: highway and fleet depots in hot climates need meters rated for wide ambient ranges; this unit is specified from -35 to 70 C.

Commissioning and enquiry notes

EV fast-charging networks are expanding in Oman and across the GCC, and charge point operators increasingly need meters that report energy delivered to the vehicle in a format suitable for billing. The AcuDC-301 is aimed at this role, with the built-in shunt and signed data described in the datasheet. Before selection, confirm with the charger maker how the meter is integrated in the charger, including mounting, communication and the signed data format.

Charger cabinets in the region can become very hot in summer, especially in direct sun, so check the internal cabinet temperature against the meter rating and plan ventilation or cooling where needed. Where billing rules apply, confirm with the local authority which approvals are accepted. Keep the tamper-evident seal intact after installation, as breaking it may affect the billing status of the meter.

Record the meter serial numbers against each charger at commissioning, so later checks and billing records can be traced.
