Lumel N43 11100M0 DIN-Rail 3-Phase Power Network Meter
Description
The Lumel N43 11100M0 is a six-module meter for 35 mm rail that measures three-phase, 3- or 4-wire networks and reports through RS-485 Modbus, USB and three programmable relays. This code is the 1 A / 5 A current-transformer version for 3 x 57.7/100 V voltage inputs, powered from 85 to 253 V a.c. or 90 to 300 V d.c. Its rail housing suits modular distribution boards where there is no room, or no need, for a door-mounted instrument.
Rail-mounted metering for modular boards
The N43 follows EN 62208 modular practice and is six modules wide, so it sits beside breakers and contactors in a sub-distribution board or a feeder pillar. It measures r.m.s. voltage and current, active, reactive and apparent power, active and reactive energy, power factor, frequency and THD, and it also calculates the 15-, 30- or 60-minute demand values P Demand, S Demand and I Demand. P Demand works as a power guard: with a relay set as an alarm, a plant can shed load before a contracted maximum demand is exceeded.
Values are shown on a backlit monochrome LCD with programmable display pages. All indications account for the programmed voltage and current ratios (voltage ratio 0.1 to 4000.0), so the screen reads primary quantities.
Key features from the data sheet
- Direct measurement up to 63 A, or indirect measurement through 1 A / 5 A current transformers.
- Three programmable alarm relays and one passive pulse output for active energy.
- RS-485 Modbus RTU plus a USB port for configuration with the free eCon software.
- Password protection and a real-time clock.
- Analog outputs can be added with the S4AO module.

Selection and ordering guide
Three ordering codes are printed in the data sheet. N43 11100M0 is 1 A / 5 A with 3 x 57.7/100 V inputs, three relays, a pulse output, RS-485 and an 85 to 253 V a.c. or 90 to 300 V d.c. supply, carrying documents in two languages and a test certificate. N43 12100M0 is the same 1 A / 5 A meter in an English-only version. N43 22100M0 is the 63 A direct-connection meter with 3 x 230/400 V inputs. Changing the final digit of any code to 2 (for example N43 12100M2) adds a paid calibration certificate. Select the 63 A version only when the load is within 63 A and the board has no current transformers.
Installation notes from the manual
The housing is plastic and clips on a 35 mm rail. Terminal strips accept conductors to 5.3 mm2 (indirect) or 16 mm2 (direct). The manual asks installers to leave at least 5 mm between the N43 and any heat-emitting device, including another N43, because otherwise the temperature at the meter can exceed the rated ambient. A switch or circuit breaker near the meter is required in the building installation. Out of the box the serial link answers at address 1, 9.6 kbit/s, RTU 8N2; the manual tabulates the Modbus registers for each measurement.
Applications in GCC plants and buildings
Typical places are tenant sub-metering in commercial towers, motor feeders at pumping stations, generator and chiller panels and process skids, where a 55 degrees C rated-ambient meter reports to a building management or SCADA system over Modbus.
