The Circutor computer C6 Wi-Fi (code R14831) is a six-step power factor regulator for contactor-switched capacitor banks. Circutor designs the Computer C Wi-Fi series for simple and effective regulation, with a high-contrast display that can show up to 27 electrical parameters and up to 12 fully configurable alarms.

It is aimed at balanced installations where ease of programming, robustness, precision and control of compensation matter more than three-CT measurement. A simple, intuitive programming system helps with installation and maintenance, plug-and-play setup and programming through the MyConfig app, and compatibility with the Anti Reactive Surveillance System (VAR).

The Computer C Wi-Fi series has four listed codes: C6 Wi-Fi (R14831. and R148310020000) and C12 Wi-Fi (R14842. and R148420020000), all contactor switching with a …/5 A input. The 0020000 versions are listed as separate codes; we quote R14831 here. Remember it is a 400 V nominal single-CT regulator, so it is for balanced loads; for unbalanced loads choose the SMART III family with three CTs.

Installation and operation notes

Panel mounting uses a 144 x 144 mm cut-out and the unit is only 54.85 mm deep. Connect the CT to phase L1, as the datasheet prefers. The 0.05 to 5 A measuring range means the CT secondary and ratio must give enough signal at light load. Programming is by keyboard or by the MyConfig app; the front panel is IP40 and the working range -20 to +60 C, which is wider than the SMART III family.

Where the C6 Wi-Fi is used

Simple automatic capacitor banks for workshops, small plants, commercial buildings and pump houses where loads are balanced and fast response is not required. The 60 C upper limit is a printed figure; mount the regulator away from the capacitor contactors and heat sources in a ventilated cubicle.

Selection and installation notes

Before ordering a power factor regulator, collect the data the sizing depends on: the supply voltage and frequency, the current transformer ratio and where the transformer is fitted, the number and size of the capacitor steps, the contactor or static switch type and whether harmonics are present on the network. Fit the current transformer upstream of both the load and the capacitor bank so that the regulator sees the net current, connect it with the polarity shown in the manual and let the regulator run its automatic set-up before the first start. Check the alarm and relay settings and write the final values on the commissioning record so that later service work starts from a known state.
