Selec EM368-C-CU 3-Phase CT-Operated Energy Meter, 96×96 mm
Description
A billing-style kWh meter for CT-connected three-phase feeders
The Selec EM368-C-CU is a 96 x 96 mm energy meter in the EM368-C range. It is built around one job: totalising active, reactive and apparent energy on a 3-phase feeder via current transformers, with an eight-digit backlit LCD whose digits are 0.36 inch high. It also reports active and reactive power and power factor.
Where a multifunction meter fills the screen with V, I and THD, the EM368 keeps the front clean for kWh. CT primary, CT secondary, PT primary and PT secondary are user programmable, the energy registers retain their value, and a password protects the energy reset. A reverse indicator warns when CT or voltage wiring is connected the wrong way round, a common commissioning mistake on retrofit panels.
Datasheet features
- 3-phase power (active, reactive), power factor and energy (active, reactive, apparent)
- Programmable CT/PT; RS485 Modbus RTU; single pulse output
- UL listed under the -CU code (c-UL-us mark on datasheet)

Order code and what it includes
The datasheet lists one code, EM368-C-CU: 100 to 240 V AC supply, pulse output, RS485 Modbus RTU and UL listing. Note the narrower operating window than other Selec panel meters: 0 to +50 degC.
Panel fitting and wiring points from the manual
The manual describes a built-in meter: slide it into the cutout, place the clamps on two diagonally opposite sides and tighten them evenly.
- De-energise first, then use copper of 0.5-2.5 mm2 rated 75 degC, routed away from interference sources.
- Bridge the CT secondary with a shorting link before you pull its leads.
- Place a breaker or isolator within the operator reach; the unit carries no internal fuse so add one externally.
- The REV flag indicates a reversed CT or voltage connection.
Typical GCC uses
Panel builders use CT-operated kWh meters like the EM368 to sub-meter chiller plants, pump houses, camp feeders and tenant supplies. The pulse output can feed a PLC or BMS counter, and the RS485 port serves Modbus-based energy dashboards. Keep it in an air-conditioned electrical room: the 50 degC upper limit is lower than that of many multifunction meters, and a panel in a hot plant room in summer can exceed it. For billing-style use, record the CT ratio and PT ratio on the panel label so the displayed kWh can be multiplied correctly.
Selection and installation notes
A panel energy meter is selected from the wiring system, the current range and the outputs needed. Check whether the meter is direct-connected or CT-operated, set the CT ratio before reading, connect the voltage inputs through suitable fuses, respect the phase order and the polarity of the CTs and set the communication parameters when it is read by a BMS or energy system. Compare the first readings with a reference meter.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
Related parts
Current transformers and any PT are separate purchases, as is the RS485 terminator for long runs. A site that also wants live voltage, current and THD on the front should look at the MFM384 or MFM376 pages instead.
