Ubiquiti USW-Lite-16-PoE 16-Port Fanless PoE Switch
Description
The Ubiquiti USW-Lite-16-PoE (Switch Lite 16 PoE) is a fanless Layer 2 managed switch with sixteen 10/100/1000 RJ45 ports, eight of them PoE/PoE+, and a 45 W PoE budget. It runs from a built-in 60 W power supply on 100 to 240 V AC and mounts on a desk or a wall.
UniFi describes it as a wall-mountable 16-port Layer 2 PoE switch with fanless cooling, aimed at small sites where noise and rack space matter.
A silent PoE switch for small sites and branch offices
With no fan, the USW-Lite-16-PoE suits reception desks, classrooms, clinics and meeting rooms where a rack-mount switch would be intrusive. Eight ports deliver PoE or PoE+ to devices such as ceiling access points, IP phones and cameras, while the other eight are plain Gigabit ports for PCs, printers and uplinks. All ports are managed in-band from the UniFi Network application, so the switch is adopted and configured with the rest of a UniFi site.

Sizing the PoE budget
The 45 W budget is shared by all eight PoE ports. As a derived example, three access points at 13 W each use 39 W and leave 6 W, so a ninth PoE device is not possible even on a free port. List the real draw of each powered device before choosing this model. If you need more than 45 W, the larger USW-Pro-48-PoE in this catalogue offers 600 W.
Uplink note (derived): all sixteen ports run at 1 Gbps, so a single uplink to the gateway is also 1 Gbps. Against the 16 Gbps non-blocking line rate, the uplink, not the switch fabric, limits traffic leaving the switch.
Installation and operation
Place the unit on a flat surface or fix it to a wall, connect mains power, and plug it into a UniFi gateway such as the UDR or UDM-Pro. The LED shows flashing white during boot, steady white when it awaits adoption and steady blue when adopted. Port LEDs show green for 1 Gbps and amber for 10/100 Mbps, with a separate amber PoE indicator. Keep ventilation openings clear because the unit relies on passive cooling.
Use in Oman and the GCC
The operating limit of 40 C means it belongs in an air-conditioned room, not in an unventilated roof cabinet. Typical placements are offices, schools, clinics, shops and villas powering a few access points or cameras.
Compatible and related items
Pair with the U6-Pro access point, the UDR gateway or the UNVR recorder. Other networking items are listed under Industrial Communications.
Selection and installation notes
A network switch is chosen from the port count and speed, the PoE budget, the uplink type and the management features. Add up the power of every PoE device before choosing the unit, keep a margin on the budget, plan airflow and the mounting position, use the right transceivers and cable category for the uplinks and keep a copy of the configuration after commissioning.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
Documents and quotation
Our Muscat office quotes the USW-Lite-16-PoE as an independent supplier, with price, lead time and stock given per request. To start, share the quantity and the list of PoE devices with their wattage. Please confirm the mains plug type and regional approvals for your site.
