Selec MV507-230V-CE 48×48 mm AC Digital Voltmeter, 50-480 V

Description

A compact 48 x 48 mm AC voltmeter for panel doors

The Selec MV507-230V-CE is a single-phase AC digital voltmeter in a 48 x 48 mm bezel. It measures true RMS voltage on a 50 to 480 V AC range (11 to 300 V AC line-to-neutral), shows it on a seven-segment LCD with an analogue-style bargraph, and is powered from a separate 240 V AC auxiliary supply.

The small bezel is meant for crowded panel doors where a full multifunction meter would not fit: incomer indication, generator output, UPS output or a transformer secondary. The datasheet specifies 1 V resolution, 0.5% accuracy and a 3.3 kV AC, one-minute high-voltage test. Overload withstand is twice the rated value for one second, repeated ten times at ten-second intervals, which matters on feeders with motor-start disturbances.

Datasheet features

  • 1-phase true RMS measurement
  • LCD digits with analogue-style bargraph; 0.56 inch digit height
  • CE and RoHS certified; UL listing applies to the 110 V -CU code

The MV Series manual also lists other MV models (MV15, MV205, MV305, MV207, MV2307) in different sizes and for 3-phase or DC use; they are different products.

Fitting and wiring notes

The manual calls for a panel cutout to the drawing, pushing the voltmeter in and securing the rear clamps in diagonally opposite slots, then tightening the screws evenly for sealing.

  • Wire with all supplies off; 0.5 to 2.5 mm2 copper, 75 degC minimum.
  • The meter has no built-in fuse; an external 275 V AC / 0.5 A fuse is recommended.
  • Over-range shows Or above 516 V; allow a three-minute warm-up before judging accuracy.

Typical places for a small voltmeter

Voltmeters like the MV507 are used on motor control centre doors, standby generator panels, UPS cabinets, small distribution boards and test benches across Gulf industrial sites. Because it is a single-phase device, a three-phase indication needs one per phase or a different MV model with a selector. Indoor panel installation only. When specifying several voltmeters on one board, record on the panel schedule which supply code each one uses, because the 240 V and 110 V versions are not interchangeable and the datasheet limits the 110 V code to 60 Hz. The IP50 rating on the datasheet means no dust or water protection worth relying on at the front, so keep the voltmeter inside a closed panel door with a gasketed cut-out if dust is a concern; the manual itself rules out steam, oil and caustic vapour near the meter.

Selection and installation notes

A panel energy meter or instrument is selected from the wiring system, the current range and the outputs needed. Check whether it is direct-connected or CT-operated, set the CT ratio before reading, connect the voltage inputs through suitable fuses, respect the phase order and the polarity of the CTs and set the communication parameters when it is read by a BMS or energy system. Compare the first readings with a reference meter and fit it in a panel with the cut-out size on the data sheet.

Information needed for a quotation

Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.

Documents and supply information

The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.

Related items

No external sensors are needed up to 480 V AC. Add a small fuse holder for the voltage tap and choose the supply code (240 V or 110 V) when ordering; the 110 V variant is rated for 60 Hz only. Wire a three-minute warm-up into commissioning checklists so that readings taken straight after power-up are not judged against the 0.5% accuracy figure. For current or power on the same panel see the Selec multifunction meters on this site.
