How the HDA 8466-A-2000-000(psi) works

Like most HYDAC pressure transmitters, the HDA 8400 series is based on a thin-film sensor. A strain gauge bridge is deposited on a stainless steel measuring cell; when system pressure acts on the cell, the bridge resistance changes in proportion to pressure, and the integrated electronics convert this into the output signal. On the HDA 8466-A-2000-000(psi) that signal is a 4 to 20 mA current on two conductors, which is robust against long cable runs and electrical noise. The pressure port contains an orifice to damp pressure peaks.
