Bender MK2430-11 COMTRAXX Remote Alarm Indicator with 12 Inputs
Description
A text alarm panel for Bender monitoring systems
The Bender MK2430-11 is a remote alarm indicator and test combination with a backlit 4 x 20 character LC text display. It shows visual and audible alarm messages from Bender systems such as EDS fault location, RCMS residual current monitoring and MEDICS, which are connected over the BMS bus. In MEDICS systems it meets the test and alarm-display requirements of IEC 60364-7-710 and DIN VDE 0100-710 for IT system monitoring and changeover modules. The MK2430-11 differs from the -12 version by 12 digital inputs and one relay output, which allow messages from third-party systems such as medical gases or UPS to be shown on the same panel.
The article number is B95100001; the unit is a flush-mounting type with the enclosure included. The MK2430-12 (B95100002) has no digital inputs, and the MK2430H-12 (B95100024) is for horizontal flush mounting.

Functions on the display
The MK2430 displays the normal-operation indicator, insulation fault, interruption of the phase conductor or PE conductor of the ISOMETER, overload, over-temperature, device failure, messages from insulation fault locators and residual current monitoring systems, supply line failure and changeover system faults, test results and measured values. When a second message arrives while the first is still pending, the buzzer sounds again and the messages flash alternately. The address of the triggering device can be called up, and internal parameters of connected devices, such as alarm addresses and EDS or RCM parameters, can be set through the menu. It can be used standalone or in parallel with other indicators.
Installation notes
- Supply from AC/DC 24 V, either from a separate source or from a Bender AN410 or AN450 power supply, observing the cable lengths in the datasheet.
- Connect the BMS bus with a shielded twisted pair J-Y(St)Y min. 2 x 0.8 and switch on the 120 Ohm terminating resistor at the end of the bus.
- Programme text and addresses with TMK-SET over USB or RS-485; the factory password is activated.
- Accessories listed: MK2430 mounting kit (B95101000) and flush-mounting enclosure (B923710).
- Use the ISOMETER test button on the front to run the IT-system test where this is required.
Typical uses
Alarm panels like this are installed where staff outside the electrical room must see an insulation or residual-current alarm, for example in medical locations, control rooms and process-plant operator areas. See the relays category for other Bender products on this site.
Selection and installation notes
Insulation and residual current monitoring devices are selected from the system type (IT, TN or TT), the system voltage, the leakage capacitance and the alarm levels needed. Connect the device to the system and to earth as the manual shows, set the response values from the system design, check the coupling or measuring current transformer and its wiring, and test the alarm and relay outputs after commissioning. Do not do an insulation test of the plant with the monitor connected unless the manual allows it.
