Allen-Bradley 25B-A2P5N104 PowerFlex 525 0.4 kW AC Drive
Description
0.4 kW PowerFlex 525 on 200-240V AC single-phase, frame A
The Allen-Bradley 25B-A2P5N104 is a PowerFlex 525 AC drive for 200-240V AC single-phase supplies. Rated 0.5 Hp (0.4 kW) in normal duty, it delivers 2.5 A and is listed by Rockwell as frame A, IP20 NEMA / Open Type. No integral EMC filter is fitted.
Rockwell prints the neighbouring ratings in the 520-TD001 table. For 200 to 240V single-phase, no filter: 25B-A2P5N104 (0.4 kW, 2.5 A, frame A), 25B-A4P8N104 (0.75 kW, 4.8 A, frame A), 25B-A8P0N104 (1.5 kW, 8.0 A, frame B) and 25B-A011N104 (2.2 kW, 11.0 A, frame B).
Reading the number: after the series (25A or 25B) comes the voltage code (V = 120V 1-phase, A = 240V 1-phase, B = 240V 3-phase, D = 480V 3-phase, E = 600V 3-phase), then the current rating, N for IP20 open enclosure and the emission-class digit.

Environment and derating
Frame A drives run at -20 to +50 C without derating and store at -40 to +85 C. Rockwell allows 1000 m altitude with no derating and up to 4000 m with derating (2000 m for 600V ratings). Relative humidity may reach 95% without condensation, and the publication warns that volatile or corrosive gases, vapours and dust must be kept away from the drive. The conformal-coating note cites IEC 60721-3-3 level 3C2 for chemicals and gases.
Shock is rated 15 g and vibration 2 g in operation, 30 g and 2.5 g in transport, so a normal motor-control-centre or machine-frame panel is fine. Sound pressure at one metre is quoted as 53 dBA for this frame.
Typical use and selection notes
A 0.4 kW drive that runs from a single-phase 240V supply and still gives a three-phase output is the usual answer for small conveyors, dosing pumps, extraction fans and workshop machines where only a single-phase feeder is available. The data sheet warns that single-phase input provides about 35% of the three-phase rating on three-phase drives, so this single-phase-rated catalog number should be chosen for single-phase supplies rather than derating a three-phase part.
For branch protection the protection tables list an input current of 6.5 A and, for IEC (non-UL) applications, catalog fuses between 10 A and 16 A with a 100-C09 or 100-E09 contactor and a 140M-C2E-C10 or 140MT-C3E-C10 motor protection breaker. The UL table allows Class CC, J or T fuses up to 15 A with the 100-C09.
Ordering and documents
Quote the complete catalog number 25B-A2P5N104 and confirm the supply voltage, the motor nameplate current and the filter version first. HIM, conduit box and communication cards are separate order codes. The hosted file is Rockwell publication 520-TD001 (September 2025), which covers PowerFlex 523 and 525. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat and quotes on request; confirm every rating against current Rockwell documents before ordering.

About brand
Allen-Bradley is the brand of Rockwell Automation for industrial control: ControlLogix and CompactLogix controllers, I/O systems, PanelView operator terminals, PowerFlex drives, motor control and industrial network equipment. The company began in Milwaukee in 1903, when Lynde Bradley and Dr. Stanton Allen formed the Compression Rheostat Company to make the motor speed controller Bradley had invented in 1901. It took the name Allen-Bradley in 1909 and was bought by Rockwell International in 1985. Since 2001 its owner has been Rockwell Automation, which is still headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Allen-Bradley company profile

| Name | Allen-Bradley Company from 1909 |
| Ownership | Acquired by Rockwell International in 1985 for about USD 1.65 billion; a brand of Rockwell Automation (NYSE: ROK) since 2001 |
| Headquarters | Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA |
| Product families | Logix programmable automation controllers (ControlLogix, CompactLogix), legacy SLC 500 and MicroLogix PLCs, Micro800 controllers, POINT, FLEX and Compact I/O, PanelView HMIs, PowerFlex AC drives, contactors, motor starters and soft starters, safety components, Stratix Ethernet switches |
Milestones
- 1901: Lynde Bradley invents the compression rheostat to control the speed of electric motors.
- 1903: The Compression Rheostat Company is formed in Milwaukee with an initial investment of USD 1,000.
- 1904: Harry Bradley joins; a crane controller is shown at the St. Louis World's Fair.
- 1909: The company is renamed Allen-Bradley.
- 1985: Rockwell International acquires Allen-Bradley.
- 2001: Rockwell Automation becomes the company's name; the Allen-Bradley brand marks 100 years in 2003.
Reading Allen-Bradley catalogue numbers
The first digits of an Allen-Bradley catalogue number identify the platform, which tells you what is compatible with what. 1756 is ControlLogix (chassis-based, used for large process and plant control), 1769 is CompactLogix 5370 with Compact I/O, 5069 is CompactLogix 5380 with Compact 5000 I/O, 1734 is POINT I/O, 1794 and 5094 are FLEX and FLEX 5000 distributed I/O, 1746 and 1747 belong to the older SLC 500 family, 1766 is MicroLogix 1400 and 2080 is Micro800. For drives, 25B is PowerFlex 525 and 22B is PowerFlex 40; in a code such as 25B-D010N114, "D" means 380–480 V, "010" is the output current rating, and N114 instead of N104 means the drive has an integrated EMC filter. Many plants in the region still run SLC 500 and older MicroLogix systems, which Rockwell has discontinued, so exact spares and migration to CompactLogix are both common requests.
Where Allen-Bradley products are used
In Oman and the GCC, Allen-Bradley controllers and drives run on oil and gas facilities, water treatment and pumping stations, cement, food and beverage and packaging plants, and on machines supplied by American OEMs. ControlLogix is often the platform for plant control systems, while PowerFlex drives are used on pumps, fans and conveyors.

Ordering Allen-Bradley products: what we need
Send the full catalogue number and the series letter from the label (for example 1756-EN2T Series D), because firmware and compatibility can change between series. For drives, add the motor power, voltage and filter option. For a discontinued SLC 500 or MicroLogix part, tell us whether you need the exact spare or a migration proposal.
