HIMA H7506 Bus Terminal for HIBUS-2 (PES H41q / H51q)
Description
Overview
The HIMA H7506 bus terminal is a passive DIN-rail element used in the HIBUS-2 (RS 485) installation of the HIMA PES H41q and H51q programmable electronic systems. It provides the physical connection point where data cables BV 7040 and BV 7046 bring the serial bus to a single-channel or redundant controller arrangement. This HIMA H7506 bus terminal is supplied as a tested spare part, ready to drop into an existing HIMA safety system.
In a safety installation the HIMA H7506 bus terminal sits between the central module and the programming station or remote nodes, carrying the RS 485 signals without active electronics. Because it is a passive component, it adds no processing overhead and no failure mode of its own, which makes it a dependable, low-maintenance element of the safety bus infrastructure.
Engineering & Design
The HIMA H7506 bus terminal is built around a 25-pole Min-D socket that accepts the HIBUS-2 data cables BV 7040 and BV 7046. Two 6-pole terminal blocks with cross-sections up to 2.5 mm² handle the bus wiring, and two switches provide the bus terminating resistors required at the ends of a HIBUS-2 segment. A PE terminal is included for protective earthing.
The terminal is designed for top hat profile rail per EN 50022, so it mounts directly beside the HIMA modules without extra bracketry. The H7506 connects the PES H41q/H51q to a programmer station (PADT) equipped with an RS 485 card such as the PC 485 PCIPC, or to communication modules in the F 8620/F 8621A, F 864x and F 865x families.

Compatibility
The HIMA H7506 bus terminal is the original part used with PES H41q and H51q central modules and the F 8620, F 8621A, F 864x and F 865x communication modules. It works with HIBUS-2 data cables BV 7040 and BV 7046 in both standard and redundant bus topologies.
Ordering Information
This HIMA H7506 is supplied as a new tested unit. Confirm your HIBUS-2 cable part numbers (BV 7040 or BV 7046) and station layout before ordering; for redundant PES configurations two terminals may be required per node.
The HIMA H7506 bus terminal is addressed by the local ID switch, and the terminal carries the field signals of the safety loop between the marshalling cabinet and the H41q or H51q controller.
HIMA safety systems in oil and gas plants rely on the H7506 bus terminal for the clean separation of the field wiring.
Why Seven Star LLC
Seven Star LLC supplies HIMA safety components for oil, gas and process plants in Oman and across the GCC.
Our engineers help you verify the exact model and revision before ordering, avoiding costly mismatches.
Identifying the Correct HIMA H7506 Spare
Before ordering, confirm the part against the label on the installed terminal and against the cabinet documentation. The type designation H7506 is printed on the housing, and the drawing set for a PES H41q or H51q system normally lists the bus terminal together with the BV 7040 or BV 7046 data cables that plug into its 25-pole Min-D socket. If the existing unit is damaged or the label is unreadable, the cabinet layout drawing and the HIBUS-2 wiring diagram are the most reliable references. Sending us a photo of the nameplate and of the terminal in the rail is usually enough to confirm the match.
Installation and Commissioning
The terminal snaps onto EN 50022 top hat rail next to the HIMA modules. Good practice during replacement:
- Follow the plant’s permit and bypass procedure, since the safety bus link to the programming station or remote nodes will be interrupted while the terminal is exchanged.
- Mark each conductor on the two 6-pole terminal blocks before removal and re-land them in exactly the same positions.
- Connect the PE terminal to the cabinet earth bar; a missing protective earth is a common cause of intermittent RS 485 errors.
- Set the two terminating-resistor switches to match the old unit. Termination belongs only at the two physical ends of a HIBUS-2 segment; a terminal in the middle of the segment must have termination switched off.
After re-energising, check that communication with the programming station and any remote nodes is restored and that no bus diagnostics remain active before the bypass is removed.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Being a passive element, the H7506 needs little routine care beyond periodic checks of screw terminal tightness, earthing and connector seating. When the bus reports errors, the usual suspects are a loose Min-D connector, a wrong termination switch position after maintenance, damaged cable shielding or a poor PE connection. These points are worth checking before any active module is replaced. Keeping one HIMA H7506 bus terminal on the shelf lets a faulty unit be exchanged in minutes during a planned outage.
Use in Oman and the GCC
Many oil and gas production stations, gas plants and utilities in Oman and the wider GCC still run H41q and H51q safety systems for emergency shutdown and fire and gas duties. For these installed systems, having the right bus hardware on site is a practical part of keeping the safety layer available through its remaining lifecycle.

About brand
Emergency shutdown, burner management and fire and gas logic are the jobs HIMA controllers are built for. The company goes back to 1908 and is based in Brühl, Germany, and its whole catalog is safety-related automation. Seven Star LLC lists HIMA safety PLC systems and the modules that keep older HIQuad systems running, and sources them by part number for plants in Oman.
HIMA safety systems and modules listed
The listing covers three generations of HIMA hardware:
- HIQuad H41q and H51q: central modules such as F8650X, coprocessor F8621A, power supply and monitoring modules F7130A and F7131, coupling module F7553, current distribution F7105A, the H7506 bus terminal for HIBUS-2 and cabinet parts such as the K9202 fan drawer
- HIQuad X: the current modular system that continues the HIQuad line
- HIMax: the X-CPU 01 processor module for SIL 3 applications
Engineering software is part of the picture. ELOP II is the programming tool for H41q and H51q systems, while HIMax and HIQuad X are engineered with SILworX.
Where HIMA safety PLC systems are used
HIMA safety instrumented systems run ESD, process shutdown, burner management, turbomachinery protection and pipeline safety functions in gas plants, refineries, petrochemical complexes, terminals and power stations across the GCC. Many of these plants still operate H41q or H51q racks, so demand for single replacement modules is steady.
Ordering HIMA modules: what we need
HIMA modules are identified by the type printed on the front, for example F8650X, plus a nine-digit part number and a hardware revision on the side label. Send all three, with a photo if possible. Tell us the system type (H41q, H51q, HIQuad X, HIMax or HIMatrix) and, for central modules, the operating system version in use, because the replacement must be compatible with the running configuration. For software such as ELOP II, state the version and license type. We check the data against HIMA documentation and, when a module has been discontinued, propose the successor the manufacturer specifies.
