Vortice A-E 636 T Industrial Axial Plate Fan 630 mm 42347

42347 is the Vortice A-E 636 T, a compact plate-mounted axial fan with a 630 mm nominal diameter, a three-phase six-pole motor at 380-415 V and a maximum airflow of 9,502 m3/h at 154 Pa. The A-E range is Vortice’s low-pressure industrial axial fan for extraction directly to the outside.

A low-pressure axial extractor for large buildings and workshops

A-E fans are for applications where no load loss is to be overcome: the booklet says the fan extracts air directly to the outdoors and must not be used to extract dusty air or acid or corrosive fumes. Mounting is on a pressed steel plate whose ventilation port is formed in one piece with the panel, aerodynamically contoured and elongated to optimise airflow and ease duct connection.

The motor is a one-speed three-phase AC external-rotor type designed to minimise axial depth, with ball bearings, insulation class F and thermal overload protection. The impeller is dynamically balanced to UNI ISO 1940 class 6.3 with four pressed steel blades, galvanised and polyester powder-coated black. A protective grille to UNI ISO 13857 doubles as the motor bracket and is easy to remove for cleaning.

Selection and ordering guide

The 630 mm A-E 636 T is the largest diameter in the A-E line and runs on a six-pole motor at 1,000 rpm, so it reaches 9,502 m3/h with 58 dB(A) sound pressure at 3 m (data sheet, free field). For higher pressure, the A-E 564 T (285 Pa, 925 W) or the medium-pressure MP series is the alternative.

Match the model letter to your supply: T versions use 380-415 V three phase, M versions 220-240 V single phase. The ES versions (for example 41231) are listed separately by Vortice.

Installation and operation notes

The booklet notes that if the fan is installed less than 2.5 m above the floor, protection of the moving parts in the form of a safety grille and gravity louvre is mandatory. It requires an efficient earthing connection, a multi-pole thermomagnetic cutout with at least 3 mm contact gap, and an overload device calibrated to the data-plate current.

Avoid letting dust build up on top of the motor because it can cause cooling problems, and provide adequate weather protection if the unit is installed outdoors.

Applications in Oman and the GCC

General extraction from workshops, warehouses, plant rooms, car parks and process halls with an open path to the outside. In Gulf summers the unit’s 50 C ambient rating needs checking against hot extract air.

It is not suited to dusty, acidic or corrosive air, which the booklet excludes; for those duties select a corrosion-resistant fan designed for the contaminant.

Sizing and maintenance notes

Plate axial fans of this type are best used where air is discharged directly to the outside with no ducting, as the datasheet describes. For warehouses and workshops, the number of fans is usually chosen from the required air changes per hour and the building volume, with suitable inlet openings on the opposite wall so fresh air can enter. Without enough inlet area, the real airflow falls well below the catalogue value.

Fit a protection guard and weather louvres or shutters where the fan faces prevailing winds or sand. Check the impeller, motor and fixing bolts during routine maintenance, and clean the blades where dust builds up.
