Kentec Syncro ASM MA80162M2 Marine Fire Panel, 2 Loop
Description
The Kentec Syncro ASM MA80162M2 is the marine and offshore version of the Syncro AS analogue addressable fire control panel, here with two detection loops and the Apollo protocol. Kentec describes it as certified with a host of classification societies and Marine Equipment Directive approved, suitable for small to medium vessels, and compatible with marine-approved devices from Apollo Fire Detectors and Hochiki. The datasheet DS51 and manual Man-1096M (Issue 21) are summarised below.
Marine-specific features
- Supports Apollo Discovery and Hochiki ESP protocols; expandable from 1 to 2 loops.
- Up to 64 Syncro ASM panels may be networked for integrated control of over 16000 fire alarm points.
- Optional Voyage Data Recorder interface outputs standard NMEA 0183 and can be fitted inside any panel on the network.
- Compatible with View Marine repeaters; a Marine Mode is described in the manual, with an IMO FSS Code configuration appendix.
- Two programmable sounder circuits, five inputs, three relays, 3 A supply, event log of 500 events.

Choosing a version
The marine range is MA for Apollo and MH for Hochiki, followed by 8016, the loop count (1 or 2) and the M2 enclosure code. Choose the protocol that matches the marine-approved detectors on the vessel or platform, then the loop count. Optional items such as the Voyage Data Recorder interface and View Marine repeaters are separate. Because approval certificates are listed by Kentec for classification societies, the buyer should request the exact certificate for the vessel class before ordering.
Installation notes from the manual
The manual specifies a clean, dry location free from shock and vibration, with temperature in the range -5 to +35 C and humidity not above 95 percent. Cable glands must be fitted and screens earthed to maintain EMC compliance, and only the required knockouts should be removed to protect the IP30 rating. Keep a copy of the configuration file on the vessel so service agents can restore the correct programme. Batteries are connected only after mains is applied, and the 3.15 A battery fuse protects against excessive current draw.
Typical applications
Marine and offshore fire alarm systems on small to medium vessels, supply boats, workboats and platforms, where addressable detection, networked repeaters and a voyage data recorder interface are needed. Confirm class and flag-state requirements for your project.
Selection and installation notes
A fire alarm control panel is selected from the number of loops or zones, the devices to be connected, the standby battery duration and the standard the project requires. It must be designed, installed, programmed and commissioned by competent fire system engineers to the code and authority rules for the project, with a cause and effect plan, correct battery sizing, cable of the specified type and a full test of every device and output before handover. Confirm the certification needed for the project with the authority before purchase.
For marine and offshore use, check the approvals required by the vessel or platform class before purchase and keep the commissioning records with the site documents.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
Documents and quotation
You can open the datasheet and manual from this page before deciding. Seven Star LLC works as an independent supplier in Muscat. Compare other models in the fire alarm panels in the Logic Controllers category, or tell us the protocol and how many panels you need.
