Brand: Tegera
Tegera Chemforce 8160 Heat-Resistant Latex Chemical Gloves
Description
A flexible latex glove for wet work and contact heat
Tegera Chemforce 8160 is a double-dipped natural latex glove with an interlock cotton lining and a foam grip pattern. Ejendals describes it as soft, comfortable and heat resistant up to 250 C (482 F), with a 0.5 mm (19.6 mil) latex layer. It is aimed at wet work where there is also a risk of contact heat, which is an unusual pairing among chemical gloves.
It is a Category III glove listed under all-round work gloves, chemical protection gloves and heat protection gloves, 300 mm long and available in blue. The sheet calls it a flexible chemical protection glove for all-round work, and gives a full set of permeation and degradation figures for five test chemicals.

Where the 8160 fits among Tegera chemical gloves
The sheet shows permeation level 6 for formaldehyde and level 5 for hydrogen peroxide, level 3 for sulphuric acid 96% and only level 2 for methanol and sodium hydroxide 40%. The printed degradation figure for sulphuric acid is 55.7%, which is a large change in puncture resistance after exposure, so choose a different glove for repeated concentrated-acid contact. Negative degradation figures mean the material became stronger in the test.
The heat rating is the distinguishing feature: EN 407 X2XXXX records contact heat level 2 and no other heat test (general code structure), and the printed text states 250 C. It is contact heat only, not protection from flame. Natural latex can cause allergic reactions in sensitive wearers, so for those users choose a nitrile alternative such as Chemforce 7350.
Fit, use and washing
The EN 388 result 3131X gives abrasion 3, cut 1, tear 3 and puncture 1. The tear value is good for a thin glove, but cut and puncture protection are low, so do not use it near sharp stock. Always put the glove on dry hands, and check for pinholes by inflating it with air before a shift in a chemical area.
Rinse the outside with water after use, dry in air away from direct heat sources and sun, and store flat. Discard a latex glove that becomes sticky, brittle or discoloured.
Typical tasks
Areas of use printed in the sheet include cleaning, decontamination, hot work, marine work, paint spraying, painting, paper industry, petro-chemical work, sanitation, concrete work and wood industry work. Industries listed are agriculture, forestry and fishing, pulp and paper, and building and construction. In plants this suits hot-water washdown, handling warm containers and general chemical handling where the process is not an aggressive solvent.
Selection and care notes
Natural latex can cause allergic reactions in some users, so check the staff list before issuing it and offer a nitrile alternative where needed. Compare the printed permeation and degradation figures with the chemicals in use, because they are given for specific test substances only. Inspect the glove before every use, do not rely on it for prolonged contact beyond the stated breakthrough times, and keep it away from sunlight and heat during storage.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full glove code, the size range, the quantity in pairs, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC and the hazards the glove must cover, so that the complete supply can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Standards, performance levels and sizes are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and construction projects.

About brand
Tegera is the safety glove brand of Ejendals AB, a Swedish maker based in Leksand. Each Tegera glove is sold under a short model number, and the product sheet for that number prints the EN 388, EN 407, EN 511 or EN ISO 374-1 results behind the markings.
Seven Star LLC lists Tegera gloves for welding, chemical handling, cut risk, cold weather and power-tool work, and supplies them to contractors and plant owners in Oman against the exact model number and size.
Tegera glove models on this page
The range here covers the Welding 7788 goatskin glove, the Chemforce 7350 winter-lined nitrile and Chemforce 8160 latex gloves, the Oil Grip 8855 and ultra-thin 8846 cut resistant gloves, the 8821 high-visibility knit, the Pro 9102, Pro 9126 and anti-vibration Pro 9180A, and the Dynamic Strength 7776 impact and cut glove.
Where Tegera gloves are used
Welding and fabrication yards, chemical and petrochemical handling, mechanical maintenance with oily parts, cold stores and grinding or chipping work are the usual places. The Ejendals data sheets name oil and gas extraction, metal fabrication, mining and building among their industries.
Ordering Tegera gloves: what we need
Send the model number, the size and the number of pairs. Ejendals article numbers add the size, for example 7788-9 for a large. For chemical gloves also give the substances, because the permeation results are printed for only a few test chemicals.
