Allen-Bradley 5069-RTB18-SCREW 18-Pin Screw Terminal Block
Description
The 18-pin screw RTB for Compact 5000 I/O
The Allen-Bradley 5069-RTB18-SCREW is an 18-pin screw-type removable terminal block for Compact 5000 I/O modules. Rockwell Automation describes it as a terminal block kit sold in a pack of one piece. The block carries the field wiring for a module, and it plugs into the front of the module so the module can be removed without disturbing the wiring.
RTBs do not ship with Compact 5000 I/O modules, so every module needs its own terminal block ordered separately. Order only the RTB type that your system requires. The product page lists a temperature rating of 0 to 60 °C and the country of origin is given as Germany.

Wiring requirements
The terminal accepts shielded copper wire from 0.34 to 1.5 mm² (22 to 16 AWG) rated at 105 °C or greater. Only one wire may be connected to a terminal, and the maximum outside diameter of the wire including insulation is 3.5 mm. Strip the insulation 12 mm and tighten the screw to 0.4 N•m. For the 5069-OW16 relay module, the data sheet calls for at least 18 AWG wire on the load connections.
Screw or spring version
The spring-type 5069-RTB18-SPRING accepts a smaller maximum wire diameter of 2.9 mm and uses a 10 mm strip length. Choose the screw type if you prefer a torque-controlled connection. The terminal block fits the 18-point analog and digital modules in the family, such as the 5069-IF8 and the 5069-IY4 listed in the Compact 5000 I/O specifications.
Label each wire so that it can be returned to the same terminal if the block is removed, and install or remove the block only when plant rules for the application allow it.
Selection checks for a Compact 5000 I/O project
Start from the I/O list of the project. Count the modules that use an 18-pin terminal block, subtract any that need the cold-junction version for thermocouple use, and then decide whether screw or spring blocks will be the plant standard. Mixing connection types in one cabinet is possible but makes maintenance harder, because technicians need different tools and different stripping lengths. It is also worth checking the wire cross-sections planned in the panel design against the range accepted by the screw RTB, particularly for relay output circuits where a heavier conductor is required.
Pre-wiring and installation in the panel
A practical advantage of a removable terminal block is that field wiring can be terminated on the bench or in the panel before the I/O modules are fitted. Prepare conductors with the specified stripping length, use one conductor per terminal, and tighten each screw with a calibrated screwdriver set to the stated torque rather than by feel. Over-tightening can damage the conductor or the terminal, while under-tightening can lead to intermittent signals that are hard to trace.
Arrange the cable duct so that wires approach the block without tension and can be dressed neatly, and leave enough slack for the block to be pulled off the module without disconnecting the conductors. Shielded analog cables should be terminated according to the grounding guidance in the Rockwell Automation documentation.
Commissioning and loop checks
Before power is applied, check every termination against the wiring diagram and perform continuity tests on the field circuits. During loop checks, confirm that each signal appears at the expected channel in the controller. Any mismatch is easier to correct before the panel leaves the workshop or before the plant starts production.
Panel conditions in Oman and the GCC
The terminal block is rated for operation up to 60 °C, but control panels in Omani plants and outdoor kiosks can become very hot in summer, so the cabinet cooling design should keep the internal temperature within the limits of both the modules and their terminal blocks. Fine dust entering through poorly sealed doors can settle around terminals, and humid coastal air can encourage corrosion on exposed copper. Use filtered or sealed enclosures and keep panel doors closed.
Maintenance practice
During planned shutdowns, inspect terminals for discolouration or loose conductors, retighten to the specified torque where your maintenance procedure calls for it, and clean dust from the panel with suitable methods. Keep wire labels legible so that each conductor can be returned to its terminal after any repair.
Spare blocks for site support
Some maintenance teams keep a small number of pre-labelled spare terminal blocks with the panel documentation. When a block is damaged, a replacement can then be wired in a controlled way, terminal by terminal, against the drawing.
Documents and quotation
When you plan a panel, count one RTB for every Compact 5000 I/O module and decide in advance between screw and spring types. The Rockwell Automation Compact 5000 I/O specifications, publication 5069-TD001, are attached. See our automation accessories catalogue and PLC and I/O cards. Confirm the exact catalog number, series letter and firmware or hardware revision on the product label, and the compatibility with your existing system, before ordering. Stock and lead time are confirmed at quotation.

About brand
Catalog numbers beginning 1756, 1734, 1746 or 5069 are read at a glance by anyone who maintains Allen-Bradley control panels. The brand, the control hardware name of Rockwell Automation, dates back to 1903 in Milwaukee, USA. Seven Star LLC sources and supplies Allen-Bradley PLC and I/O modules, communication adapters and PowerFlex drives for plants in Oman, matching catalog number, series letter and firmware against the manufacturer's documentation.
Allen-Bradley product families listed here
Current controller platforms on this page are ControlLogix, with the 1756-L85E ControlLogix 5580 controller and the 1756-PA72 chassis power supply, and CompactLogix 5380, with the 5069-L320ER and 5069-L340ERM. Distributed I/O is represented by POINT I/O: the 1734-AENTR dual-port EtherNet/IP adapter and the 1734-IB8 digital input module. Allen-Bradley drives listed include the PowerFlex 525 and PowerFlex 755. For installed systems there are SLC 500 parts: the 1746-A10 chassis, 1746-NI16I analog input module, 1747-ASB remote I/O adapter, 1747-KE interface and 1747-M13 memory module.
Where Allen-Bradley hardware is used
ControlLogix and CompactLogix controllers run packaged equipment and plant utilities: compressor and pump skids, water and wastewater plants, power distribution, material handling and packaging lines. PowerFlex drives control pumps, fans and conveyors. Many SLC 500 racks are still in service.
Ordering Allen-Bradley modules and drives: what we need
Send the full catalog number, the series letter and, for controllers and communication modules, the firmware revision printed on the side label. Compatibility with an existing project depends on these. For PowerFlex drives, give the complete catalog string, which encodes voltage, current rating, enclosure and options, plus the motor nameplate data. For SLC 500 parts, tell us the rack size and processor so that we can check slot and power supply loading in the manufacturer's manuals. A label photo avoids most mistakes.
