Danfoss 132F0059 VLT Micro Drive FC 51 15 kW 380-480 V Frequency Converter
Description
A 15 kW drive for 20 hp motors in the M4 frame
132F0059 is the Danfoss VLT Micro Drive FC 51 rated 15 kW (20 hp) on 380-480 V three-phase supplies, model code FC-051P15KT4E20H3BXCXXXSXXX. It shares the M4 enclosure with the 11 kW unit, so panel cut-outs and mounting holes are identical, but its 31.0 A continuous output at 380-440 V and 42.0 A input current call for heavier supply cabling and a larger share of the cabinet cooling budget. The model code is the one requested in the list as FC-051P15K and is confirmed by the Danfoss store under this ordering number.

What changes between the 11 kW and 15 kW M4 drives
Both M4 units use 63 A gG fuses in non-UL installations, but the 15 kW input current is 42.0 A continuous (60.0 A intermittent) at 380-440 V, compared with 33.0 A for the 11 kW. Power loss rises from 290.0 W to 387.0 W best case, so check heat dissipation in the enclosure. Efficiency is 97.7 percent best case and 97.4 percent typical. Mains and motor terminals accept 4 mm2 (10 AWG) cable, and the brake chopper is built in. Use a motor with insulation rated for inverter supply and keep shielded motor cables within 15 m or use an external filter.
The 15 kW rating draws 42.0 A continuous from a 380-440 V supply, so the installer must check the supply cable against local regulations and the 63 A gG fuse; the drive terminals accept 4 mm2. Heat loss is 387.0 W best case and 454.0 W typical, about 2.6 to 3.0 percent of the rating. Efficiency is 97.7 percent best case and 97.4 percent typical. The Danfoss store lists a net weight of 6 kg and a gross weight of 6.39 kg. Output current rises from 23.0 A on the 11 kW to 31.0 A here, an increase of about 35 percent in the same enclosure.
Ordering number, accessories and availability
The code FC-051P15KT4E20H3BXCXXXSXXX has P15K for 15 kW, T4 for 380-480 V and the same H3, B, X, C options. For the M4 frame the Design Guide lists a Type 1 kit 132B0120 and a decoupling plate 132B0122; no IP21 kit is listed for this frame. The Design Guide ordering table pairs no MCC 107 line filter with this number. Danfoss gives June 30, 2026 as last time buy and September 30, 2026 as last time delivery for this number and offers the iC2-Micro as the upgrade. Key features of the VLT Micro Drive FC 51
- Two control principles – VVC+ for good torque control up to 200 Hz, and U/f up to 400 Hz for simple fan and pump loads or special motors.
- Integrated RFI filter – the H3 code in the model string indicates the built-in filter listed in the specification table, so many installations need no external filter.
- Built-in brake chopper – at this rating a braking resistor can be connected directly, useful for conveyors and machines that must stop quickly or that regenerate energy.
- Process PI controller – lets the drive hold pressure, level or flow from a 4–20 mA transmitter without a separate controller.
- Removable keypad – the local control panel with potentiometer can be used for setup and parameter copying between drives.
Selecting the 15 kW unit correctly
The decisive figure is the motor full-load current compared with the drive’s 31.0 A continuous output at 380–440 V. Many 15 kW four-pole motors sit just under this value at 400 V, but the margin is small, so the nameplate should be checked rather than assuming kilowatt equals kilowatt. The 150% short-term overload for one minute covers normal acceleration of pumps, fans and conveyors. For high-inertia loads with long starts, or where the panel will run warm, the next rating up gives more headroom.
Installation and maintenance notes
- The IP20 chassis must be installed in an enclosure that can remove the 454 W typical dissipation in addition to other heat sources.
- Mount drives side by side as allowed by the Danfoss operating instructions, keeping the stated clearance above and below for cooling air.
- Size the supply cable for the 42.0 A input current at 380–440 V and protect it with the 63 A gG fuses listed above.
- Use screened motor cable and keep motor and control cables separated to limit interference.
- Clean the heat sink and check the cooling fan periodically, especially on dusty sites.
Applications in Oman and GCC conditions
A 15 kW Micro Drive is commonly used on irrigation and transfer pumps, cooling tower fans, ventilation fans and conveyors. High ambient temperatures are the main design constraint in the region: if the enclosure air temperature can exceed the rated ambient, output current must be derated as described in the design guide. Generator-supplied sites benefit from soft acceleration, which reduces the starting load on the generator compared with direct-on-line starting.

About brand
From its headquarters in Nordborg, Denmark, where it was founded in 1933, Danfoss makes the drives, valves and sensors found in pump rooms, chiller plants and cold stores. Its blue VLT frequency converters are probably the most familiar of them.
Seven Star LLC lists Danfoss VLT drives, pressure transmitters, refrigeration valves and HVAC control valves, and supplies them to contractors and plant owners in Oman against the exact code number on the label.
Danfoss product families on this page
Among the VLT drives listed, three are each aimed at a different duty: the VLT HVAC Drive FC 102 for fans and building services, the VLT AQUA Drive FC 202 for water and wastewater pumping, and the VLT AutomationDrive FC 302 for general industrial machinery. The LCP 12 control panel with potentiometer (code number 132B0101) is also listed; Danfoss specifies it for the VLT Micro Drive FC 51. In pressure measurement there are the MBS 3000 general purpose transmitter and the MBS 5100. Valves include the AB-QM pressure independent control valve in DN 15 to DN 250, the EVR 25 servo-operated solenoid valve and the ICV pilot-operated valve for industrial refrigeration.
Where Danfoss equipment is used
District cooling and chilled water plants, air handling units, booster and irrigation pump stations, desalination and wastewater works, ammonia and CO2 refrigeration plants, food storage and marine engine rooms are the usual places. Demand in the GCC is driven largely by cooling and water.
Ordering Danfoss parts: what we need
Every Danfoss product has a code number, and drives also carry a long type code string on the label. Send both. For a drive we need the motor power and current, the mains voltage, enclosure rating, any fieldbus or option card and the filter class. For an MBS transmitter give the pressure span, output signal, pressure connection and electrical connection. For valves give the size, connection type, coil voltage where relevant and the refrigerant or medium.

Frequently Asked Questions
15 kW (20 hp), three-phase 380-480 V, IP20 chassis in the M4 frame.
42.0 A continuous and 60.0 A intermittent at 380-440 V; 36.0 A and 52.0 A at 440-480 V.
Both use the M4 frame. The 132F0059 is 15 kW with 31.0 A output; the 132F0058 is 11 kW with 23.0 A output.
No. The model code shows X for display, so the control panel is an accessory such as the LCP 12 (132B0101).
The H3 code gives an integrated RFI filter class A1/B (C1) with reduced cable length. Check the Design Guide EMC tables for cable limits.
