SKF TLMR Automatic Lubricant Dispenser, 30 bar

Description

Overview

The SKF TLMR Automatic Lubricant Dispenser is an electro-mechanical single point lubricator built to supply grease to one lubrication point at a relatively high pressure of 30 bar. That pressure lets the unit push grease through long feed lines, so it can be mounted well away from difficult-to-reach or unsafe lubrication locations. SKF designed the series with a wide temperature range and a robust housing, making it suitable for operating conditions with high vibration and significant temperature variation. Two versions are offered: the battery-powered TLMR 101 and the TLMR 201, which is powered from 12 to 24 V DC.

Seven Star LLC supplies SKF TLMR lubricators and SKF grease cartridges to industrial customers in Oman and the GCC, with engineering support in Muscat. We help maintenance planners decide between battery and DC-powered versions, choose cartridge size and grease, and plan feed line routing for points that sit in hot, dusty or guarded areas.

Operating Principle

Inside the SKF TLMR an electric motor drives a pump that draws grease from a screw-in, non-refillable cartridge and delivers it to the lubrication point at up to 30 bar. The user sets an emptying time of 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 or 24 months, or selects a purge mode that dispenses 31 ml per hour for initial filling of a line. With the 120 ml cartridge the output ranges from 0.16 to 3.9 ml per day, and with the 380 ml cartridge from 0.5 to 12.5 ml per day, which covers small motor bearings as well as large, grease-hungry plain and rolling bearings.

Because the drive is electro-mechanical, the dispense rate is independent of temperature. As general engineering background, the higher pressure capability compared with typical 5 bar single point units matters when grease must travel through a long tube, when the bearing housing creates back pressure, or when stiffer greases are used. Status is shown by LEDs: green every 8 seconds for normal operation, green and red together when the cartridge is almost empty, and red for an error, while SKF DialSet helps calculate the right setting for each bearing.

Engineering Design of the SKF TLMR

The SKF TLMR housing is rated IP 67 to DIN EN 60529 and IP 6K9K to DIN 40050 part 9, giving strong protection against water jets and dust, and the ambient temperature range is –25 to +70 °C. The connection thread is G 1/4 female and the maximum feed line length is up to 5 m, depending on ambient temperature, grease type and back pressure. Each lubricator comes with a strong mounting bracket as standard, so it can be fixed on any flat surface near or away from the machine. Cartridges are exchanged by simply screwing them into the unit.

The TLMR 101 runs on four standard AA lithium batteries, which suits stand-alone points without a power supply, and refill sets for this version include cartridge and batteries together. The TLMR 201 takes 12 to 24 V DC through an M12-A plug connection (plug not included), which is the better choice where the lubricator should operate only when the machine runs or where wiring is already available. Complete sets TLMR 101/38WA2 and TLMR 201/38WA2 come with a 380 ml cartridge of SKF LGWA 2 grease.

Key Features

SKF lists the following strengths for the SKF TLMR series.

  • A maximum discharge pressure of 30 bar over the whole dispensing period allows long feed lines and remote mounting.
  • The temperature-independent dispense rate holds steady across seasons and day-night swings.
  • Time settings extend up to 24 months, reducing service visits on low-consumption points.
  • Two cartridge sizes, 120 ml and 380 ml, cover low and high lubricant consumption.
  • Battery (TLMR 101) and 12 to 24 V DC (TLMR 201) versions suit both stand-alone and wired installations.
  • IP 67 and IP 6K9K protection makes the unit suitable for wet, dusty and wash-down environments.
  • Cartridges are filled with high quality SKF bearing greases, including high temperature and food grade types.
  • A strong mounting bracket is supplied as standard for easy fixing on a flat surface.

Industrial Applications

SKF recommends the series for applications with high lubricant consumption and high vibration, for general machinery and food processing thanks to its water and dust protection, for engine rooms and hot fans because of its high temperature performance, and for wind turbines because of its low temperature performance. In Oman, the SKF TLMR is well suited to induced and forced draft fans, crusher and conveyor bearings in cement and quarry operations, large pump bearings at water transmission stations, and machinery in food and beverage plants in the Rusayl and Sohar industrial estates.

Seven Star LLC supplies the SKF TLMR as part of a complete approach to bearing reliability. Automatic grease delivery is most effective when combined with condition monitoring using instruments like the SKF Microlog Analyzer AX, correct bearing selection such as the SKF 6206-2RS1 deep groove ball bearing, and precise shaft alignment with the SKF TKSA 41 laser shaft alignment tool. Our Muscat engineers can review your lubrication points and propose suitable SKF TLMR sets and grease choices.

About brand

SKF, founded in 1907 in Gothenburg, Sweden, is best known for rolling bearings, seals and lubrication systems, and it also makes the tools maintenance crews use to mount, align and monitor rotating equipment. Seven Star LLC lists SKF bearings, maintenance tools and condition monitoring instruments and supplies them by full designation to plants and workshops in Oman.

SKF bearings and maintenance tools listed here

Four items show the spread of the range: the 6206-2RS1 deep groove ball bearing with rubber seals on both sides, the TIH 030m induction heater for mounting bearings, the TKSA 41 laser shaft alignment tool, and the Microlog Analyzer AX (CMXA 80) vibration data collector. Other SKF bearings can be quoted from the full designation.

Ordering SKF bearings and tools: what we need

An SKF bearing designation is read in three parts: the basic number, then suffixes for seals or shields, cage, clearance and tolerance. Send it complete, for example 6206-2RS1/C3, because the suffixes change the part. For tools and instruments, send the model designation and say which accessories or kits you need. If markings are worn off, give us bore, outside diameter and width in millimeters. We answer SKF spare parts inquiries from all GCC countries.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the TLMR 101 and TLMR 201?
The TLMR 101 is powered by four AA lithium batteries, while the TLMR 201 runs on 12 to 24 V DC through an M12-A connection. Both share the same 30 bar pump, cartridges and time settings.
Why is the 30 bar discharge pressure important?
Higher pressure lets the SKF TLMR push grease through feed lines of up to 5 m and overcome back pressure from the bearing housing. This makes remote mounting away from hot, unsafe or hard-to-reach points practical.
Which cartridge sizes and greases are available?
Non-refillable cartridges come in 120 ml and 380 ml sizes. The 380 ml size is offered with several SKF greases, including LGWA 2, LGHB 2, LGHQ 2, LGFG 2 food grade, LGWM 1, LGWM 2, LGEP 2 and LGMT 3.
What environmental protection does the dispenser have?
SKF rates the TLMR at IP 67 to DIN EN 60529 and IP 6K9K to DIN 40050 part 9, with an ambient temperature range of -25 to +70 C.
Can I buy SKF TLMR lubricators from Seven Star LLC in Oman?
Yes. Seven Star LLC supplies SKF TLMR lubricators and cartridges in Oman and the GCC, with engineering support in Muscat. Send an RFQ with the version and grease required and we will quote.
