Brand: JIE
JIE JRESR Stainless Steel Helical Inline Gearmotor
Description
Overview
The JIE JRESR is the helical inline member of JIE Drive’s JRES stainless steel gearmotor family, a range developed for washdown and corrosive environments where a painted cast-iron gearmotor would quickly deteriorate. JIE builds the gear housing as a stainless steel casting designed in line with the EHEDG hygienic equipment design guidelines, uses SS304 stainless steel for all external parts, and pairs the reducer with a stainless motor. The JIE JRESR is offered in sizes 37 to 67 with ratios from 3.41 to 199.81, motor power from 0.18 kW to 7.5 kW and output torque from 26 N·m to 670 N·m.
Seven Star LLC supplies the JIE JRESR to food, beverage, pharmaceutical, water and marine users in Oman and the GCC, with engineering support in Muscat. Hygienic drives are usually bought for a specific line, so we work from the line speed, load and cleaning regime to confirm a size and ratio, and check that mounting and shaft details fit the existing machine frame.
Working Principle
An inline helical gearmotor places the motor and the output shaft on the same axis. Inside the JIE JRESR the motor pinion drives a train of helical gear pairs, two or three stages depending on ratio, and each stage steps the speed down and the torque up. Helical teeth mesh along a sloping line so contact is progressive and more than one tooth is loaded at once, giving quiet, smooth running and good efficiency. The coaxial layout keeps the drive slim, which helps on conveyors and fillers where machines sit close together.
What sets a hygienic gearmotor apart is not the gearing but the outside. Bacteria and product residue collect in crevices, cooling fins, exposed fasteners and painted surfaces that chip. The JIE JRESR uses a smooth stainless housing and a stainless motor with no paint, and JIE offers three housing surface finishes — machined, polished and as-cast — so the external surface can be matched to the cleaning standard of the area. JIE describes the family as easy to clean, maintenance-free and meeting IP69K for high-pressure, high-temperature washdown in the food industry.
Engineering Design of the JIE JRESR
The JRES catalogue defines the JIE JRESR through a structured model code. It records the stainless helical gear unit, the flange option (no flange or a single flange), the stainless motor size (for example S890 for motor size 90), the motor pole number and power, the gear ratio and the mounting position, with 0 and 180 degree installation positions shown. Configurations include foot mounting and flange mounting with a solid output shaft. Because the gear unit and motor are supplied as an integrated stainless assembly, there are no painted adaptor parts left exposed in the washdown zone.
Selection follows the service factor method set out in the JIE catalogue. The required output torque of the driven machine is multiplied by a driven-machine factor, a prime-mover factor and a starting factor, and the result must not exceed the permissible torque of the gear unit. JIE tabulates driven-machine factors for applications such as centrifugal and screw pumps, mixers for uniform and non-uniform media, thickeners, bucket conveyors and cranes, which helps users of the JIE JRESR size a drive correctly for daily operating hours and start frequency.
Key Features
These are the features of the JIE JRESR that matter most in hygienic and corrosive service.
- The cast stainless housing follows EHEDG hygienic design guidelines, with SS304 used for all external parts.
- JIE states the range meets IP69K for intensive washdown in the food industry.
- Housing surfaces can be supplied machined, polished or as-cast to suit different cleaning standards.
- Sizes 37 to 67 offer ratios from 3.41 to 199.81 in an inline, coaxial layout.
- Motor ratings from 0.18 kW to 7.5 kW deliver output torque from 26 N·m to 670 N·m.
- An unpainted stainless finish removes the risk of paint flakes entering product.
- JIE highlights low noise, no oil leakage, long life and maintenance-free running.
- A documented service factor method supports correct sizing for pumps, mixers and conveyors.
Industrial Applications
JIE lists food, medicine, marine machinery and water supply systems as the core markets for the JRES range. In Oman that includes dairy, juice and bottled water plants, poultry and meat processing, flour and confectionery lines, and pharmaceutical facilities in the Rusayl, Sohar and Salalah industrial areas. A JIE JRESR suits conveyors, fillers, cappers, mixers and dosing equipment where the drive is washed down every shift and must not shed paint or corrode.
The same stainless construction is useful outside the food sector: on fishing vessels and in seafood processing along the coast, in desalination and water treatment where chemical dosing and splash are common, and in outdoor installations exposed to salt-laden air. Seven Star LLC supports these users as a trusted supplier with engineering support in Muscat. For standard painted drives in dry areas of the same plant we also supply the JIE JRT R series helical gearmotor.

How to Order
To quote a JIE JRESR, Seven Star LLC needs the output speed and torque or the motor power and ratio, the mounting form, the supply voltage and the washdown conditions of the area. Our Muscat team will check the selection with the JIE service factor method, confirm availability and delivery to your plant in Oman or the GCC, and send the JRES catalogue extract with the offer. For right-angle stainless drives ask about the matching JRESK version, and for heavier painted drives see the JIE JRT K series helical-bevel gearmotor and the JIE JRT F series gearmotor.

About brand
Gear units and gearmotors are the core business of JIE, a manufacturer founded in 1988 and based in Hangzhou, China. Its drives turn conveyors, mixers, hoists, pumps and bulk handling machinery in heavy industry.
Seven Star LLC lists JIE gearmotors and industrial gear units and supplies them to plants and machine builders in Oman, selected from the manufacturer's catalog data.
JIE product families on this page
The JRT modular gearmotor line is listed in its four classic forms: the R series helical gearmotor with in-line shafts, the F series parallel shaft helical gearmotor, the K series helical-bevel gearmotor with a right-angle output, and the S series helical-worm gearmotor. For heavier duty there are two industrial gear units: the JRHH with parallel shafts and the JRHB helical-bevel unit.
Where JIE drives are used
R and F units drive conveyors, agitators and pumps where the motor sits in line with or parallel to the driven shaft. K units fit where space forces a right-angle layout, as on belt conveyor heads and bucket elevators. The JRHH and JRHB industrial gear units are applied to large conveyors, crushers, mills and hoisting gear in cement, mining, ports and bulk handling, industries well represented in the GCC.
Ordering JIE gearmotors: what we need
Send the full type designation and the nameplate data of the existing unit: ratio, output speed, motor power, mounting position and serial number. For a new drive we need the required output torque and speed, the service factor or a description of the load, shaft type (solid or hollow, with dimensions), foot or flange mounting, motor voltage and frequency, brake if any, and the ambient temperature. A dimensional sketch of the driven machine shaft prevents most fitting errors.
