Raytec SPX-BL24-W-100100 SPARTAN Bulkhead BL24 Zone 1 LED

SPX-BL24-W-100100 is the SPARTAN Bulkhead BL24 Zone 1/21 LED luminaire in white light with the 100 x 100 degree optic: 96 LEDs, 15 W and up to 2,274 lm in a marine-grade aluminium bulkhead rated IP66 and IP67.

A compact Zone 1 bulkhead for walls, ceilings and escape routes

The BL24 is the smaller luminaire of the SPARTAN family, weighing 5 kg and fitted with stainless steel wall brackets as standard. It is built for the same hazardous areas as the larger SPARTAN lights: Zone 1 for gas and Zone 21 for dust, with ATEX, UKCA and IECEx ratings printed in the datasheet.

Optics, HO version and emergency options

Optics in the datasheet are symmetrical 50 x 50, 90 x 90, 100 x 100, 120 x 120, diffused and 140 x 140 degrees, and asymmetrical 120 x 50, PP2, PP3, WB and AR1. The 140 x 140 optic is the one recommended for use with the exit sign kit, which includes indicator labels, blanking pieces and six self-adhesive graphics with 48 combinations.

The BL24-HO gives more light (up to 3,979 lm, 26 W), and LO is a 12 W low-output option in the builder. Choose EMX25 where escape lighting is needed, but note DALI is not compatible with the emergency version. Confirm voltage, optic and mounting before ordering.

Installation and maintenance

Raytec cites installation guide 0940-D-00007 for the BL24 and battery care document 0010-D-00001. The unit has four M20 entries and comes with three certified blanking plugs, so only the entries in use should be opened with certified glands. The datasheet allows -50 to +55 °C ambient for standard variants and -20 to +46 °C for emergency variants, so check the maximum ambient on roof-level or sun-exposed positions in the Gulf against the T-class marking on the certificate.

Applications in Oman and the GCC

The BL24 suits walkways, stairwells, pump rooms, compressor shelters, analyser houses and platform corridors in oil, gas and petrochemical sites where a small, low-glare Zone 1 light is needed. With the exit sign kit it can serve as a hazardous-area exit sign.

Selection and installation notes

A luminaire for a classified area is selected from the zone, the gas or dust group and the temperature class stated on the certificate, and the installation must follow the local hazardous area rules. Use certified glands and cable, keep the enclosure sealed, do not modify the unit, check the supply voltage and the mounting height for the light level needed, and keep records of inspections as the site procedure requires.
