Allen-Bradley 25B-D013N104 PowerFlex 525 5.5 kW AC Drive

Description

5.5 kW PowerFlex 525 on 380-480V AC three-phase, frame C

The Allen-Bradley 25B-D013N104 is a PowerFlex 525 AC drive for 380-480V AC three-phase supplies. Rated 7.5 Hp (5.5 kW) in normal duty, it delivers 13.0 A and is listed by Rockwell as frame C, IP20 NEMA / Open Type. No integral EMC filter is fitted.

Rockwell prints the neighbouring ratings in the 520-TD001 table. For 380 to 480V three-phase, no filter: 25B-D010N104 (4.0 kW, 10.5 A, frame B), 25B-D013N104 (5.5 kW, 13.0 A, frame C), 25B-D017N104 (7.5 kW, 17.0 A, frame C) and 25B-D024N104 (11 kW, 24.0 A, frame D).

Reading the number: after the series (25A or 25B) comes the voltage code (V = 120V 1-phase, A = 240V 1-phase, B = 240V 3-phase, D = 480V 3-phase, E = 600V 3-phase), then the current rating, N for IP20 open enclosure and the emission-class digit.

Networking and safety

The 25B series embeds an EtherNet/IP port, so configuration, control and data collection run over the plant network without an option card; a dual-port option card adds Device Level Ring topologies. Safe Torque Off is built in and, per the datasheet, meets ISO 13849-1 up to SIL 2 / PLd. DeviceNet and PROFIBUS DP cards are separate options.

Typical use and selection notes

A 5.5 kW (7.5 Hp) 400V-class drive is a very common size for centrifugal pumps, supply fans and conveyors in water, HVAC and light industrial plants. The unfiltered N104 version suits panels that already have an external EMC filter or where the plant standard does not require category C2 or C3 emission levels at the drive.

The listed input current is 15.4 A. IEC protection entries are catalog fuses of 20 A to 35 A, a 100-C23 or 100-E26 contactor and a 140M-D8E-C20 or 140MT-D9E-C20 breaker; the UL table allows Class CC, J or T fuses to 35 A.

Ordering and documents

Quote the complete catalog number 25B-D013N104 and confirm the supply voltage, the motor nameplate current and the filter version first. Accessories such as a keypad, a conduit box or option cards are not part of this catalog number; the linked data is 520-TD001 from Rockwell, edition September 2025. We are an independent supplier based in Muscat. Please verify ratings with the current Rockwell literature before purchase.

To prepare an accurate quotation for 25B-D013N104, please send the motor nameplate details (rated power, current and voltage), the supply voltage and frequency, the mounting type you prefer, and whether a braking resistor, a communication card or a keypad accessory is needed. Include the quantity and the delivery location in Oman so that we can check availability and give a realistic lead time.

About brand

Allen-Bradley is the brand of Rockwell Automation for industrial control: ControlLogix and CompactLogix controllers, I/O systems, PanelView operator terminals, PowerFlex drives, motor control and industrial network equipment. The company began in Milwaukee in 1903, when Lynde Bradley and Dr. Stanton Allen formed the Compression Rheostat Company to make the motor speed controller Bradley had invented in 1901. It took the name Allen-Bradley in 1909 and was bought by Rockwell International in 1985. Since 2001 its owner has been Rockwell Automation, which is still headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Allen-Bradley company profile

Milestones

  • 1901: Lynde Bradley invents the compression rheostat to control the speed of electric motors.
  • 1903: The Compression Rheostat Company is formed in Milwaukee with an initial investment of USD 1,000.
  • 1904: Harry Bradley joins; a crane controller is shown at the St. Louis World's Fair.
  • 1909: The company is renamed Allen-Bradley.
  • 1985: Rockwell International acquires Allen-Bradley.
  • 2001: Rockwell Automation becomes the company's name; the Allen-Bradley brand marks 100 years in 2003.

Reading Allen-Bradley catalogue numbers

The first digits of an Allen-Bradley catalogue number identify the platform, which tells you what is compatible with what. 1756 is ControlLogix (chassis-based, used for large process and plant control), 1769 is CompactLogix 5370 with Compact I/O, 5069 is CompactLogix 5380 with Compact 5000 I/O, 1734 is POINT I/O, 1794 and 5094 are FLEX and FLEX 5000 distributed I/O, 1746 and 1747 belong to the older SLC 500 family, 1766 is MicroLogix 1400 and 2080 is Micro800. For drives, 25B is PowerFlex 525 and 22B is PowerFlex 40; in a code such as 25B-D010N114, "D" means 380–480 V, "010" is the output current rating, and N114 instead of N104 means the drive has an integrated EMC filter. Many plants in the region still run SLC 500 and older MicroLogix systems, which Rockwell has discontinued, so exact spares and migration to CompactLogix are both common requests.

Where Allen-Bradley products are used

In Oman and the GCC, Allen-Bradley controllers and drives run on oil and gas facilities, water treatment and pumping stations, cement, food and beverage and packaging plants, and on machines supplied by American OEMs. ControlLogix is often the platform for plant control systems, while PowerFlex drives are used on pumps, fans and conveyors.

Ordering Allen-Bradley products: what we need

Send the full catalogue number and the series letter from the label (for example 1756-EN2T Series D), because firmware and compatibility can change between series. For drives, add the motor power, voltage and filter option. For a discontinued SLC 500 or MicroLogix part, tell us whether you need the exact spare or a migration proposal.
