PCB Piezotronics 607A11 Swiveler Industrial ICP Accelerometer
Description
A low profile accelerometer whose cable can be turned to fit
The PCB Piezotronics 607A11 is a low profile industrial ICP accelerometer with a side-exit integral cable and a swiveler base. The mounting base lets the sensor be aimed so the cable leaves in the direction that suits the machine, which helps on crowded bearing housings where space and cable routing are tight.
Inside is a ceramic shear element in a welded hermetic stainless steel housing, with a sensitivity of 100 mV/g and a 0.5 to 10,000 Hz range. The sensor is only 0.97 in high and weighs 1.1 oz without cable. It is supplied with ISO 17025 accredited single-point calibration and a 10 ft polyurethane cable.

Fitting the swiveler base and options
Fitting is a four-step job on the drawing: coat the interface with silicone grease, tighten the stud with a 1/8 in hex key (3 mm for metric) to 3 to 4 ft-lb, thread the sensor on and aim the cable, then lock the hex nut at 2 to 3 ft-lb while holding the stud. Keeping the stud torque above the nut torque allows the sensor to be dismantled later. The mounting hole is drilled and tapped as shown on the installation drawing.
The sheet offers EX for hazardous areas (the factory names the approvals on request), M for a metric stud (M080A159A) and TO, which adds a temperature signal scaled at 10 mV per C over +36 to +250 F. In its functional safety declaration to IEC 61508, which names the 607 series among others, PCB gives SIL 2, type B, HFT 0 and 79.59 percent SFF. Ask us to confirm that the declaration covers your exact part number first.
What to confirm before ordering
Please send the full part number with option prefixes, the cable length, the mounting hole thread and the monitoring system. If your input expects a velocity or 4-20 mA signal instead of acceleration, see the PCB Piezotronics 640B01 velocity transmitter.
How the PCB Piezotronics 607A11 works
The 607A11 is an ICP accelerometer. A ceramic element works in shear mode inside a welded stainless steel housing, and a small mass loads the element when the machine vibrates. The element makes a charge in proportion to acceleration, and an internal amplifier converts it into a low-impedance voltage of 100 mV per g. Power and signal share one cable, with a constant current of 2 to 20 mA and a bias voltage of 8 to 12 V DC. The swiveler base has a stud and a hex nut, so the sensor can turn and the side-exit cable can be aimed in the direction that suits the machine.
Where the 607A11 is used
- Bearing housings with little space.
- Pumps, motors and fans in route-based monitoring.
- Permanent monitoring on gearboxes and compressors.
- Machines where the cable must leave in a fixed direction.
- Wet and dirty plant areas, with the IP68 rating.
Selection checklist for the 607A11
- Sensitivity of 100 mV/g and a range of plus or minus 50 g.
- Frequency range of 0.5 to 10,000 Hz within 3 dB.
- Resonance of 25 kHz typical.
- Height of 0.97 in (24.6 mm) and weight of 31 g.
- Side-exit cable of 10 ft (3 m), made of polyurethane.
- Temperature range of -54 to +121 degrees C.
- Welded hermetic stainless steel housing.
- Mounting base 080A156 supplied with the sensor.
- Options for hazardous area, low bias, metric mounting or temperature output.
- ICP supply in the data collector or monitor.
Installation, commissioning and maintenance notes
Prepare the mounting hole as shown on the installation drawing, and coat the interface with silicone grease. Tighten the stud with a hex key to 4.1 to 5.4 Nm, thread the sensor onto the stud and aim the cable, then lock the hex nut at 2.7 to 4.1 Nm while holding the stud. Keeping the stud torque above the nut torque lets the sensor be removed later. Route the cable with clips away from the rotating parts. Check the bias voltage at the monitor and keep the calibration record.
Requesting a quotation for the PCB Piezotronics 607A11
Send the machines, the quantity and any option you need. Seven Star LLC serves industrial customers in Oman and the GCC and replies with a quotation based on the information provided.
Low profile
At 0.97 in high, the sensor fits where taller sensors cannot be mounted.
Calibration
The sensor is supplied with an ISO 17025 accredited single-point calibration.
Cable routing
Being able to turn the sensor before locking it makes cable routing easier on crowded machines.
Sensor register
Record the machine, the point and the serial number of each sensor, so trends stay comparable.
Mounting surface for the 607A11
A flat, clean and drilled surface gives the best frequency response, because a rough or uneven base can lower the usable upper frequency. Remove paint and rust from the spot, and keep the tapped hole square to the surface.
Documents and quotation
The PCB installation and operating manual with the 607A11 specification sheet is attached. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat and quotes against your exact part number. More vibration products: Vibration Monitoring.

About brand
PCB Piezotronics, founded in 1967 in Depew, USA, makes sensors for dynamic measurement: accelerometers, pressure and force sensors and measurement microphones, most of them using the company's ICP built-in electronics. Test laboratories and machinery engineers know them as PCB sensors. Seven Star LLC sources and supplies PCB Piezotronics accelerometers and acoustic sensors for customers in Oman, including the models described below.
PCB sensors listed here
Model 356A01 is a miniature triaxial ICP accelerometer with a ceramic shear element and titanium housing. PCB gives it a nominal sensitivity of 5 mV/g, a range of 1000 g peak and a weight of about one gram; it is adhesive mounted and has an integral four-conductor cable. Model 378B02 is a 1/2-inch prepolarized free-field microphone supplied with a mated ICP preamplifier and TEDS, at 50 mV/Pa.
Ordering PCB sensors: what we need
Send the exact model number, including any prefix letters. PCB puts option codes in front of the base model, so a high-temperature or metric version carries a different prefix. Add the cable length and connector, and the signal conditioner or analyzer input you are using. For GCC test laboratories we can request the manufacturer's calibration certificate with the sensor.
