Brand: Ridgegear
Ridgegear RGH3 Unisex Front and Rear D Safety Harness
Description
RGH3 is a Ridgegear unisex, Y-shaped, two-point full body harness with an aluminium front D ring and a steel rear D ring, certified to EN 361:2002. It weighs 1.1 kg with standard buckles and is built for fall protection when combined with a compatible lanyard, or for restraint.
A light general-purpose harness with front and rear attachment
Comfort leg pads are standard, an extra waist strap adds comfort, and high-contrast stitching makes inspection easier. A flexible rear D pad, easy-slide shoulder buckles and a tail tidy to stow excess webbing round out the design, which Ridgegear says minimises rigid webbing edges. The webbing is 45 mm RIDGE Protect anti-bacterial polyester, which Ridgegear states gives a 14 times reduction in bacterial growth by ISO 20743:2013 contact with K. pneumoniae.
Rip-stitch fall indicators are fitted, so a harness that has taken a load is visible to the next inspector. Sizes are Small, Standard and Large, and a size guide is published.

Selection and ordering guide
The RGH3 suits users who need fall arrest or restraint without work positioning or suspension seating. For hands-free positioning use the RGH7 or RGH17 on this site. The instructions say a full body harness is the only acceptable body-holding device in a fall arrest system and that the other equipment must be compatible with it.
Check the compatible lanyard: fall arrest requires an energy absorber limiting force to below 6 kN, and users over 100 kg must also confirm this.
Installation and operation notes
Fit in six steps: place the harness flat, step into the waist belt, lift it to waist level, put each shoulder strap on, tighten waist then shoulders, and fasten and tighten the leg loops. Ridgegear recommends a suspension test in a safe place before first use. Fall arrest attachment points are marked with the letter A.
Clearance example from the leaflet: a 2 m energy absorber lanyard to EN 355 can extend by up to 1.75 m, so the anchor should be at least 6.75 m above the ground or nearest obstacle below.
Inspection points listed in the leaflet: webbing for cuts, tears, abrasion, scorch marks, burns or chemical attack; stitching for broken or worn stitches and the rip-stitch indicator; metal parts for cracks, corrosion and distortion; and legible product marking. A harness that has arrested a fall must be withdrawn until a competent person confirms in writing that it can be used again.
Applications in Oman and the GCC
General maintenance and construction work at height across Oman and the GCC, tank farms, scaffolds and roof access. Heat and sweat are real factors, so cleaning with mild detergent and clean warm water, then drying naturally, is the routine the instructions give.
Be aware of suspension trauma and use trauma straps where possible.
Storage and care: keep it in a clean, dry place away from heat and sunlight, do not write on the webbing, wash with mild detergent and rinse in clean warm water, and let it dry naturally. The leaflet also names SATRA Technology Europe (module B) and BSI Netherlands, ID 2797 (module D) as notified bodies.
