Description
A modulating electric part-turn drive with IO-Link and Bluetooth
The MS3 is EBRO ARMATUREN’s electrical control drive, a modulating part-turn actuator with an EN ISO 5211 valve interface. It is built on the E65, E110 and E160 actuator sizes and adds control electronics: a control board and a power board, a non-contact angle sensor, an acceleration sensor and a temperature sensor. Local operation uses a pushbutton and an RGB status light, with IO-Link and Bluetooth for remote setup.
Because it accepts a 4-20 mA or 0-10 V setpoint and can report position back on a 4-20 mA or 0-10 V output, the drive can sit directly on a flow or level loop without a separate positioner. Three digital inputs and three digital outputs add open/closed, intermediate position, an external process sensor and fault feedback.

The slower operating time is marked as an option in the sheet, and the torque falls with it, for example from 80 Nm to 60 Nm on the E65. Frequency is 50 Hz for all three sizes. Weights are 10.3 kg (E65), 19.0 kg (E110) and 29.0 kg (E160).

The data sheet says further certificates and approvals are available on request; no explosion-protection rating is printed for the MS3 itself.
Wiring and commissioning
The connection table assigns a 24 V DC supply and GND on the control board, analog inputs 1 to 3, analog outputs, digital outputs for collective fault and for the OPEN and CLOSED positions, and the power board terminals for 230 V AC L, N and PE. A switching suggestion shows fuse F1, signal lamps for CLOSED, OPEN and fault, an input signal and a feedback signal. The dead zone of 3 % and the safety position should be set to suit the process, for example a failsafe closing action.
Where an MS3 helps
A modulating electric drive suits water treatment, HVAC and process lines where compressed air is unavailable, such as remote pumping stations or desalination plants. In very hot enclosures, check the -20 °C to +60 °C limit. EBRO’s own butterfly valves such as the Z 611-A and F 012-A offer an EN ISO 5211 top flange that matches this drive family.
