Brand: EBRO ARMATUREN
EBRO SC Double-Acting Pneumatic Linear Actuator SC 100-SC 320
Description
A linear pneumatic actuator sized for knife gate valves
The SC series is a range of double-acting pneumatic linear actuators that EBRO ARMATUREN designed to automate knife gate valves. It comes in six cylinder sizes, SC 100, 125, 160, 200, 250 and 320, which refer to the barrel diameter in millimetres, and in many stroke lengths from 90 mm up to 1030 mm. A NAMUR interface according to VDI/VDE 3845 sits on top of the actuator so that solenoid valves and air ducts can be mounted directly, reducing piping and mounting effort.
The cylinder tube is anodized aluminium and the covers are powder-coated. Stainless steel tie rods and an extruded aluminium cylinder form a compact, stable unit, and the piston rod carries a wiper ring in the bottom end cap. The sheet describes the actuator as low maintenance because of lifetime lubrication.

Forces at 4 to 6 bar
The thrust values below, in newtons, are for closing and opening strokes. The closing thrust is higher than the opening thrust in every row, which is consistent with the piston rod taking up part of the piston area (a derived explanation). The data sheet also prints a headline power range, which does not match the 6 bar opening value of the largest size, so the force table is used as the reference here.
| Type | 4 bar close (N) | 4 bar open (N) | 5 bar close (N) | 5 bar open (N) | 6 bar close (N) | 6 bar open (N) |

Dimensions, weight and air volume
The dimension letters A to E and M are taken from the drawing in the data sheet; LK1 and LK2 give the flange codes for the valve connection. A selection of strokes is shown, and the full sheet lists every stroke length per size.

Selecting and installing an SC actuator
Choose the cylinder size from the thrust the knife gate needs, then the stroke from the gate opening; because the actuator is double acting, air must be supplied to both sides, and the supply must meet ISO 8573-1 class 3 or better. The data sheet states a maximum supply of 10 bar, but all forces are printed only up to 6 bar. For very hot or cold sites, ask EBRO about the high and low temperature designs.
Information to send with an RFQ for the EBRO SC Double-Acting Pneumatic Linear Actuator SC 100-SC 320
An actuator is sized for the valve it will drive. For the EBRO SC Double-Acting Pneumatic Linear Actuator SC 100-SC 320, tell us the valve type, size and make, the torque or force required with a safety margin, the operating time you need and whether the valve must fail open, fail closed or stay in position on loss of power or air.
- Supply: instrument air pressure range, or electrical voltage, phase and frequency.
- Control signal: on/off, 4-20 mA modulating, or a fieldbus such as IO-Link.
- Accessories: solenoid valve, limit switch box, positioner, manual override.
- Environment: ambient temperature, ingress protection and any hazardous area rating.
Valve and actuator are best quoted together so the mounting kit and coupling are included and the assembly can be checked before shipment.
Each quotation for the EBRO SC Double-Acting Pneumatic Linear Actuator SC 100-SC 320 states the exact manufacturer part number, the documents that will accompany the shipment, the expected lead time from the factory and the delivery terms to your site. If the part number on an existing nameplate is incomplete or worn, send a clear photograph of the label and of the installed unit, and the correct ordering code can be confirmed with the manufacturer before the offer is issued.
