Material Handling & Lifting Equipment is a small category at present, supplied by Seven Star LLC from Muscat, Oman. It lists Konecranes and Demag electric chain hoists and wire rope hoists, Danfoss radio remote controls for cranes and a Hirschmann cable reel assembly for crane booms. The range is growing, and other hoist capacities, trolleys, crane components and spare parts from these manufacturers can be sourced on request.
Electric chain hoists and wire rope hoists
An electric chain hoist is compact and suits workstation cranes, monorails and jib cranes with lighter loads. A wire rope hoist handles heavier loads and greater heights of lift and is the usual lifting unit on overhead traveling cranes. Both are selected by safe working load, height of lift, lifting speed and duty group. The duty group, defined in the FEM and ISO classifications, reflects how often the hoist works and how close to full load. Supply voltage, frequency and control voltage have to be stated, together with the trolley type and the beam flange width.
Crane components and hoist spare parts
Cable reels, brakes, contactors, pendant controls, chains and rope guides are ordered by the manufacturer’s part number together with the serial number of the hoist or crane, because the same model is built in many variants.
What to send for a lifting equipment quotation
For a new hoist, send the load, height of lift, speeds, duty group, power supply and the suspension or trolley arrangement. For parts, send the nameplate data and the part number. We check the configuration against the manufacturer documentation for buyers in the GCC.
What to include in your inquiry
These details let us quote the right item the first time.
- Load capacity
- Lifting height and span
- Power supply
- Duty class
- Indoor or outdoor use
Missing some of them? Send what you have. A nameplate photo or an old part number is enough to start.

Frequently Asked Questions
A chain hoist is the practical choice for lighter loads, short lifts and tight headroom, and it gives a true vertical lift. A wire rope hoist is preferred for heavier loads, long heights of lift, higher lifting speeds and intensive duty on bridge cranes. The capacity ranges overlap, so the duty group and the height of lift usually settle the choice.
The duty group classifies a hoist mechanism by its expected running time and by the share of lifts made near full load. FEM and ISO each publish such a classification. Two hoists with the same capacity can have different duty groups and very different design lives. A hoist with too low a group for the application wears out early, so describe the real operating pattern in the inquiry.
The hoist type designation and serial number from the nameplate, the part number if you have the parts list, and the supply and control voltages for electrical items. For chains and ropes, add the capacity, the number of falls and the height of lift. A photo of the nameplate and of the old part helps us confirm the item in the manufacturer documentation.
On request we provide the manufacturer's datasheet and the documents the manufacturer issues with the unit, which typically include the declaration of conformity, the factory test certificate and the operating instructions. The thorough examination and load test of the complete lifting system at site, carried out by a competent person under local regulations before first use, is arranged by the owner.
No. A standard hoist has motors, brakes, contactors and limit switches that can ignite a flammable atmosphere, and mechanical parts that can spark. A hazardous area needs an explosion-protected hoist certified for the zone, gas group and temperature class of the location. State the area classification in the inquiry so that the manufacturer's explosion-protected version can be identified.
